Not sure what the record is for The Box, but does it get broken this weekend? Saturday night is our best chance

They're gonna announce a minimum of 10,500 or so for the simple reason that that's the number of tickets that will be sold.

Actual? That's anybody's guess.

That's up to LSU. They can always decide to sell more SRO tix than in the past for the reason of breaking the attendance record.

Right now it is.

As I said, we already know they're gonna announce a minimum of about 10,500 sold.

I've never heard them announce the actual number of tickets scanned during the game. They USED to include actual attendance and paid attendance in the game notes (and we were pretty much the only ones who did), but I think even we stopped doing that last year.

In any case, the attendance records, both at the program level and at the NCAA level like the single game attendance figures Moo State claims, are all based on paid attendance.

The Box has 10,326 actual seats. I know LSU sells SRO tickets, but I have no idea how there could have been 12,700+ at a game in The Box like that Carolina game in 2013.

Yeah, I can't imagine that there have ever actually been 12,000 fans at the box for a game. The "actual attendance" record is probably closer to 11,000 than 12,000. The 12,700+ figure is definitely paid attendance.

But we're not alone in that. Mississippi State has absolutely never had 15,000 fans actually at a game. Their records are also paid attendance (as are everyone's).

2014 was the last year they released actual attendance numbers. You can still see actual and paid numbers in the box score prior to 2015.

Eta: 11,401 is the actual attendance record against OU. Of course, that's doesn't include seasons after 2014.
