You want the aids of lawn care it's called Virginia button weed. You dang near can't kill it. I have hit it with round up and MSMA multiple times this year and it keeps coming back stronger.
Didn't know what it was until I looked it up but I have a few spots of this. Not taking over yet but definitely want to kill it now.

Spectracide broadleaf selective (don't remember the active ingredient) definitely kills buttonweed...ask me how I know. It's not a one and done kind of thing, but it does kill the buttonweed.

I had to post on this...I learned about this unstoppable grass in about 2012 in my last home where I introduced it after ridding my yard of Dallisgrass. The rhizomes are the tough(near impossible) to kill part. Tilling the lawn will just spread them out. I'm experimenting on my lawn (1600 sqft of it). I have gone the nuclear option--which the wife is loving . The Torpedo grass has just laughed at my attempt and said thanks for killing off the St. Augustine that was in its way. I'm going to try some other chemicals (like Fusilade II and Drive XLR8) other than glyphosate and dicamba as they seem to just kill the top growth and not the rhizomes. So, I've sprayed it, burned it, and covered it with little success. I haven't given up just yet. I'm probably going to switch from St. Augustine to a fine blade Zyosia or Bermuda grass to have any chance to fight this horrible grass. I'll report back over time with my results.

There are some products that you can use on centipede and in landscape areas to suppress it
Please share what this is. I have torpedo as high as some of the small trees I have in my landscape. It fricking sucks. My entire back yard is being overrun.
All thanks to my lovely neighbor that built 2 years after me. Had my yard perfect. Luckily, there's a walk that separates my front yard, and the torpedo has yet to show up on the other side.
I'm beyond the point of keeping up with it and I can't afford to nuke my grass and landscape entirely.

Poast. But by all accounts, only knocks it back, doesn't kill completely.

I'm not even sure what torpedo grass is. I looked at pictures online but still not sure. Some pics looked similar to bermuda; others, similar to St Aug

I have spurge taking over my flower beds.
I spray it with glyphosate but it seems to pop up right next to it and grows 1' wide in 2 days.
Not sure how to end it.

Update...So I switched to Geo Zoysia and Palisade Zoysia. I still have torpedo grass popping up here and there...I can now treat with Drive XLR8... Once spring hits and things get more active I'll report back with my results.

Forgive my ignorance, but can you seed the zoysia or have to buy sod?
