I think it's pathetic outside of a couple rare instances. I saw one the other day where a girl requested $200 to get hair blow outs because she hurt her finger at Mardi Gras and they were poor while her husband is getting through his residency. She said she couldn't wash her own hair.

Hi everyone, I'm the guy that was asking about starting one for his "sick cat". The fact is my wife and I have been in pretty dire financial straits the last year and this $1650 vet bill was something that happened unexpectedly (he's not sick, he has a pretty nasty infected wound from an accident). When we heard the price I was pretty depressed and posted that status. We are NOT doing a GoFundMe for his treatment (which some of my friends have done) and are going to make it work.

To the guys that say it's pathetic, I agree and that's why I'm not doing it. Honestly I hate them pretty much all the time too but, like I said, we've been pretty down financially and I've been somewhat depressed for the last few months.

I'm not going to spend much time mentioning the anonymous person on here that thinks I'm a "fricking loser" but that's cool, unfriend me on FB since you know it's me.

Also my name is Jeremy Logan and yes I was in drumline.

I'll probably get shite from people on the site, but that's cool.

Major unexpected illness, car accident, adoption, unexpected funeral expenses, etc...I appreciate it at times like that.

Easy way for me to help out and show my support. Much better than "prayers" in the comments of a Facebook post.

Family friend was hitting up folks for donations to send his daughter on a European vacation. He and his wife probably make $250k combined. Exactly why am I suppose to foot the bill so your daughter can go to Europe for a month?

Alright alright. It is different for people who don't set it up themselves. Sad that we've seen it both ways tho.....

I agree with you man. Again, looking back on it I'm embarrassed honestly, that's why I deleted the status.

Sorry for being so harsh. I've seen this shite been used the wrong way, and then I've seen the family fighting to stay above water bc their six yr has leukemia and they had to quit jobs to get the kid treatment.

It's cool. There are many other reason's why I'm a loser that don't have to do with a dumb GoFundMe post!

I truly hope you find the funds. Pets are family too. I'd be devastated if we couldn't afford to get our little beagle mutt needed care.

If you start the gofundme I will contribute. Or email me your address and I will mail it to you. Wellkellsbells@gmail.com

We went with the CareCredit card. Just like a credit card, we've had friends use it before. 6 months no interest as long as we pay it off. Now if I can just find a full time job we'll be set!

I would never have started one without many posters asking me to do so. It made a pretty cool Christmas gift for my sister. I wouldn't start one for anything else but it does serve a purpose in some instances.

Glad it worked out in the beginning for your little sister. Until she let him OD and choke on stuff.

Srsly, good for her.

I'm with you on this. Last week, I was pulled up to a traffic light, and high school girls were holding out buckets asking for donations so they can raise the funds they need for summer camp. I said, "So, where's the car wash? You are going to do something for me to give you my money, right?"

The girls just looked at me with a perplexed look on their faces and said, "No, just asking for donations." I tossed in a nickle and drove away laughing.

Saw one once from a guy that needed money so he wouldn't have to go get a job. Said he was proving a point to his mom. The shocking think to me was he had 5 people giving him money and $200 in the account last time I checked.
