I was addressing your first point. That they happen because they're the most well-known city.
The new version of terrorism, low tech with minimal outside involvement, funding or supervision ("lone wolf") isn't carried out by people coming from outside the country and showing up from Pakistan for the attack. They are local or "homegrown." These new attacks will be wherever Muslims live and concentrated in the areas that Muslim populations are the highest. London has over 12% Muslim population.

And how do you think they radicalize them? Part of it is some Muslims will feel like the whole world is against them and peoole saying shite like this won't help. People just don't instantly want to join a radical terrorist group

I'd argue that the Islamic world has undergone a "revival" akin to the big tent Protestant revivals of Americans past. The results are very different (again a contrast between being fervor in the Christian world and Muslim world) though, and the chief results are hyper-awareness by muslims of western culture's incompatibility with Islamic values.
Please look at pictures of Iran under the Shah, Pakistan after partition (when religious tension was at its highest), Egypt in the 70's, Afghanistan in the 60's (when we built Helmand), and North Africa up until the 90's. Hijab wearing and Islamic traditionalism is the current wave. It appears to us like a fad, but when you do just a minor amount of reading you will see that traditionalism, incompatible with western civ, has overwhelmingly been the rule for the Muslim world and not the exception.
My gut feeling is that the "peace" with Islam the west saw from WW1 to the later stages of the Cold War (exception is Israel vs Arab wars) has more to do with the secular influence of the late Ottoman Empire, and the return to Islamic ideals we are seeing is the final fulfillment of Saudi/Gulf countries seizing the moment to be the dominant force in the Islamic world. Nature abhors a vacuum of power, and with the fall of the secular ottomans the saudis have risen.

I'm not making excuses, I'm trying to find what would make a person turn to a radical group. I feel no compassion for the assholes that do turn, but I also don't want to see more turn to ISIS

You are missing that the bedrock of their faith is the literal submission of the world to Allah and his merry band of followers. Though not all muslims will act or think in that way, it's an inherent part of their worldview that they are superior and righteous and nonbelievers should defer to them.
They also are extremely romantic in their view of history, and are programmed to think of the high periods of civilization as being something involving one of the Muslim empires rather than giving credit to Greeks, romans, manga carta signers, American founding fathers, etc.

Yep, I have alluded to this many times. The Protestant Reformation took place in 16th Century Europe. That's about how far behind Islam is in fitting into modern day society.

Pretty much this. Christianity was able to reform because the fundamental tenets in the Bible supported the reformation. And the truth is the tenets of Islam actually support the radical nature of Islam we see today. Bottom line: infidels need to convert to Islam and enforce Sharia Law or die.

Liberals are dangerous because their idealism which they cling to like facts are oblivious to and stand in stark contrast to life itself. They put those idealist views over any and all good sense, and think this is just a game. It is not a game, and there will be, as there always are, consequences for their actions.
