Some of my favorite art that showcase what a fierce and powerful woman she is.

Screw that. Where are the pics of Gal Gadot?
Just got out and I thought it was fantastic. Ever since BvS, I couldn't wait for her standalone film, and I thought it was everything it needed to be. She's so damned wide-eyed and charming.

Alright just got out of it. Shocking, but DC couldn't make a decent film to save their lives. Shitty characters, crappy story, incomprehensible dialog, awful visuals, and I'm just fricking with all of you this movie was simply fantastic.
This film was just great and easily measures with the best Marvel has made and easily DC's best film since The Dark Knight. Of the modern superhero movies, I'd say only Logan and the Winter Soldier are better.
Diana was great, Steve Trevor was amazing, and the supporting cast was fantastic as well. And finally, a comprehensible plot that matches with emotional tone and doesn't blindly disregard anything not directly shown on screen. And actual good humor. Thank fricking Christ that at least the people behind this film figured it out.
It is such a tonal difference than what DC has given us previously. You never, ever think if you had background that Wonder Woman and the rest of the DCEU were in the same universe; you'd surely be asking if she was a Marvel character. It really gives you a whiplash effect on how different it is.
So for the sequel, give me Wonder Woman: Pacific Front. That would fricking awesome.
3.5 out of 4 stars

It was really good. Extremely predictable, but good. I liked the humor, the action, the supporting characters. And I agree that Ares wasn't nearly as intimidating as he could have been. The actor had something to do with that. All I saw was Lupin.

Just got out.
Great movie. Honestly shocked at how good it was.

Saw it last night and came away very satisfied. Gal Gadot proved her detractors wrong and the DCEU was given a big shot in the arm. I'm an unapologetic fan of both Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman, however I am not afraid to admit that this film is far superior to those other two.

Terrific movie though I was bummed no end credits scene. I was kinda surprised they alluded to Steve and Diana having sex, but the hints were there from the beginning. Also, Chris pine did an excellent job.

The wife and I caught the movie Friday night. She was kinda "meh" going in because she thought the character from BvS was poorly handled and the lack of blue eyes really annoyed her.
She enjoyed the movie so much that even the non-blue eyes problem was minor to her.
Casting was great and while some of the parts seemed sluggish, the cinematography was fantastic and the story was solid enough. There were some points I would have changed though...
1. When Diana inadvertently knocks her trainer on her arse by using her bracers, I would have toned that down a bit (like 75%). Like in BvS DC seems to go too big too soon with powers.
2. The shielding effect in the final fight with Aries. WTF? When did Diana learn to channel Sue Storm?? Either have the detritus Aries was sending at her crashing into her but only slightly halting her forward movement or have her just knocking them away.
3. I agree somewhat with Whiskey in that having a shipload of Germans chasing a plane is a bit ridiculous. Having a few planes chasing him in, shooting him down then trying to finish him off (killing Amazons, btw) until the Amazons took them down would have been a somewhat more realistic take (but not enough for me to get my panties in a wad over).
4. There should indeed have been the contest among the Amazons. A 5-10 minute bit of competition montages (something like A Knight's Tale) would have been fine.
5. There was an odd lack of blood considering someone was using a sword to kill the shite out of enemies (especially the fight scene in the tower where she plunges the sword through the guy and the ceiling).
***FOOTNOTES***
---I loved the use of the slow-mo in the village fight scenes, I hope they use them sparingly in future movies instead of using it to try to mask a lack of story (or at least story-telling) with eye candy.
---It's too late now but after seeing the colorized pics with WW having blue eyes, it would have been better aesthetically to go that route (as well as it would be sticking closer to the books). I put this about on the level of Steve Rogers or Barry Allen (TV version) not having blonde hair.

My top Wonder Woman moments from the film:
Diana as the smartest person in the room: Both as the master interpreter of Sumerian and Ottoman and in her "Language Off" with Sammy.
Diana as the empath: Seeing Charley's distress and self-doubt and bringing him back life and to the group simply by asking him "Who would sing for us?"
No Man's Land.

Got to see this tonighy. I was absolutely mesmerized by Gadot and not just because she was hot. I guess charming would be the best word. Her and Pine had incredible chemistry. Also, whisky papa is awful!

Patty about to get paid.
'Wonder Woman' Director Patty Jenkins Not Signed for Sequel
'Wonder Woman' Director Patty Jenkins Not Signed for Sequel
quote:
Sources say the studio intends to begin negotiations with Jenkins shortly (although the exact timing is unclear), and the filmmaker and her reps at CAA, Anonymous Content and Jackoway Tyerman will enjoy enormous leverage. Jenkins could not only return to the director's chair on Wonder Woman 2 but also could ink a more expansive deal that would allow her to work with DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns on a script treatment for that movie and possibly others as well.

I may have missed the dialogue, but why didn't they just blow up the plane in the hangar instead of Steve sacrificing himself?

So I finally got to see WW.
And it was a solid, heroic portrayal and fun action flick. DC finally got a foot planted.
My cons were the Zack Snyder slo-mo has to go. Her real time fights are fantastic, the slo-mo and freeze frame *pow* *bamp* *fap* color posing are awful and take away so much.
Ares was wasted when he went god mode. He needed a graveled booming voice of gravitas. So that felt weaker.

Announcement of the release date for Wonder Woman 2 scheduled for this weekend at Comic Con. Hopefully they can announce Jenkins officially as the director as well.
