Speaking of Marvel movies, one complaint I have with the movie is how meh Ares was. He had like 10 minutes of screen time.

That's my only complaint. Other than that, the movie was great. I'm not sure if letting him live to fight another day would've been better or worse. Giving him more screen time earlier on could've distracted from the human element the movie was focusing on. So maybe there's no way to avoid it in this particular movie, but the similarity to Marvel is still there in that regard.

Overall, it's a badass DC movie and I hope the studio takes note while moving forward to the next one.

You really need to let this nitpicky shite go. She's perfect as is.

I love the frick out of Wonder Woman. Next to Superman who is my numero uno, she's one of my favorite heroes ever and the bar is set high for me as she's basically Superman who's willing to get into the gray area of morals to do what's necessary.

Even Cosplays of Wonder Woman take the time to get blue eye contacts to complete the spectacle. No excuse for a major motion picture to not get that taken care of.

Man, give it a rest. He cast the perfect Wonder Woman. Just enjoy the movie without gritting your teeth and shaking your fist at the credits.

A broken clock that's right twice a day. Whoopity...

Man just how fricking pissed are you that someone not named Zack Snyder made a good DCEU movie? It's funny how you're not even bothering to defend him at all and just going after people for being "obsessed" with him.

Your favorite director is a flaming bag of shite and everyone knows it and we're all just waiting for DC to do the right thing in mercifully dropping the hammer on that flaming bag of shite.

Also I think they did a great job of not making GG just eye candy. Not that she's a fantastic actress but they didn't go for any sort of smut with her and that was to be commended. I say that as male a chauvenistsic member of the patriarchy.

During pre-production I was pissed that the only required qualification to direct this movie is you had a vagina. I just wanted a director who was passionate about Wonder Woman and had a great vision with the competence to pull it off.

But this is the benefit of having a woman director: they're not going to try that overly sexualized shite that detracts from the movie. And it really shows in here. The sexualized stuff is showed with humor, which is pretty damn refreshing.

Really a near perfect comic book movie. The tone was just serious enough and the dialogue was just corny enough. You could enjoy it as a superhero film without the hero seeming out of place in the real world or the entire thing taking place in a ridiculous reality.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Gadot in BvS and in Keeping up with the Joneses. I was still nervous about her carrying this film, but Jenkins directed her perfectly. It was like watching Christopher Reeve as Superman for the first time. You could tell that he wasn't the best actor in the world, but, damn, he was Superman.

Whoever had a problem with the CGI was off there rocker. And I thought that we got just enough of the General, Dr. Poison, and Ares. They didn't put the entire load on one villain and it kept us from having a singular bad guy to get tired of.

Some of the plot was predictable, but enjoyable. And the one big reveal took me by surprise. I'm guessing that some were expecting a Darth Vader "I am your father" moment or something like that.

Another huge plus for me was that there wasn't a single moment in the film that made me wince or that took me out of the movie. No Stan Lee or Lynda Carter cameos to cause a record scratch. No mention of Atlantis or Apocalypse as a wink to Justice League. A great stand-alone film that took itself just seriously enough.

I did gasp audibly when they mentioned Edgar Rice Burroughs. That really set the time frame for me. A really nice touch.

In DC, I think only Batman really compares to her origin story, and they pulled it off amazingly here. Maybe the best origin story since Batman Begins on the top of my head.

Did you notice that they basically invented an entirely new origin story for Wonder Woman instead of the usual story with Hercules enslaving the amazons and carrying out sheer atrocities of rape and torture on them?

Maybe I'm using the DCAU version, which I thought was great.

Gal Gadot could be the most gorgeous woman in Hollywood. Damn she was mesmerizing in the movie.

This movie gave us one thing that I dont think that any other comic movie has ever given us, and that is hope. I cant think of another comic character embody this so much before.

My only problem with the film was that the second act was a little uneven. Loved the first act, and I loved the ending. Even Aries really didnt bother me that much, but the middle of the film dragged a little.

Still, the movie freakin rocked. Definitely a top 5 comic movie. Not sure where exactly where Id put it.

It was really good. Extremely predictable, but good. I liked the humor, the action, the supporting characters. And I agree that Ares wasn't nearly as intimidating as he could have been. The actor had something to do with that. All I saw was Lupin.

The movie followed the DCU origin of the Amazons, not their original backstory from Greek mythology.

I was a bit disappointed that they did away with the tournament to choose the Amazon representative in the outside world.

The Ares reveal was a little lame and predictable but didn't really ruin anything. Yes the CGI was a little off at points but it doesn't take you out of the movie. Chris Pine as usual was incredible. The dialogue wasn't bad and the supporting cast was really good. The movie did slow down at a couple points like when they defeated the soldiers in that town and just kinda hung around, could have shaved some time off that. Gadot without a doubt looked flawless as wonder woman. I wouldn't say she was cast perfectly but she is perfectly ok as Diana. Yes, for the down to earth movie people you will notice sometimes her acting is flat but it's not terrible. She's not great but she isn't terrible either. Overall it was good. Not top 10 comic book movie but probably top 20. Definitely worth a watch especially if you have been disappointed by the DCEU so far, this movie will give you faith that they can still right the ship.

sure was kind of slow getting moving. but i enjoyed it.

Question: when the Germans attacked, why didn't the Amazons just stay up top and pick them off with the arrows? That was working. But, they had to show off and run down there and fight guns with swords.

I'd imagine they had never encountered firearms.

1) They didn't know what firearms were.
2) Diana was down there and probably would have been killed.

Saw it last night and came away very satisfied. Gal Gadot proved her detractors wrong and the DCEU was given a big shot in the arm. I'm an unapologetic fan of both Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman, however I am not afraid to admit that this film is far superior to those other two.

Grade: A-

I wish they would've explained the red, blue and gold uniform. This was probably intentional to remove any US references but its better than the brown uniform in B vs S.

Amazing movie, not sure any other comic book movie sold me more on someone being a hero and why they do what they do then Wonder Woman.
