To be fair you do see a lot of fans on their cellular devices

But rocking scarfs in 80+ heat during the summer is stupid
I was at the Orlando City match last weekend, and instead of scarves people were wearing these OCSC branded scarf-like things where the fabric was this thin sweat-wicking polyester/nylon material. I thought it was in flavor of being at a soccer match, but also very practical.

ATL mixing the two cultures together pretty well. There's some cringe but it's not awful at the two games I've been to. "We Ready" before kick gets me hyped.
Same
I think manufactured support for new teams is a little cringe-worthy. You've lived in Atlanta for 3 years and now you bleed Atlanta United red and black after attending 3 matches? LOL ok
But thankfully, there isn't much of that. Support is solid and loud without being too douchey.

Wanting to support your town's team? Fine.
Wanting to wear the team colors? Fine.
Singing manufactured chants made up for the team before the season started? If they're not simple, they're horribly cringe-worthy.

Exactly. Just let it happen naturally, don't try and play catch up all at once.

MLS the first 10 years: "It's too American. Needs a more European atmosphere."
MLS the last 10 years: "It's too much like Europe. Quit copying them."
People will never be happy.

To be fair, who could have known that in ten years, 90% of the MLS fan base would be hipsters and turds.
I don't see a European atmosphere at MLS games. Chants and clapping your hands over your head isn't what makes for a good atmosphere. It's the intensity and level of play. There's much more at stake at those games and you can feel it.
Americans don't hate soccer, they hate American soccer fans.

Sounds like you have an inferiority complex
No but seriously these things need to just naturally happen. Some of it does feel forced and some feels like it came naturally.
Places like Portland who have always had good fan culture, DC, LA, Orlando, and KC feel natural.
Places like Seattle and NYCFC are very cringe and looks insanely forced. NYCFC and their fake hooligans is awful, also never forget song sheets. Seattle is just the new hip thing for people( their base was way smaller in the mirrors). That and hearing them do literal translations of German chants and songs into English is terrible.

Against all odds sir, you've managed to be right about something.
It's easy for Americans to hate on soccer because it's not ours. And because of who wound up gravitating towards the new sport when it came here. The league and its fans are a little less cringy every season.
