You're aware they added the 2nd best player in the league to their already stacked team, right?
I'm aware. I also know they weren't hurting for scorers and that's precisely what they've added.
I'm not an idiot, Durant is an asset to this team, however, what made GS truly great was their depth. No more Bogut, no more Harrison, Iggy was a huge part of their success against the Cavs early in the series, and he's gimped now.
I also don't think Livingston bails them out like he did last year game one coming off the bench.
GSU on paper has the best players. But their style leaves them wide open to going cold and living/dying by the three point shot. The series will be extremely competitive, but I think a GS sweep is a drastic overreaction.
Furthermore, will people who are 100% confident that GS will sweep acknowledge LeBron's greatness if and when he wins the series? Considering they thought 4-0 was a foregone conclusion?

Since they were already stacked, you could argue that they didn't need him.

If it didn't happen after last year's finals then it never will.

what if cleveland sweeps golden state
People will make excuses for Golden State and not give LBJ any credit for it.
With how highly touted this GS team is, if the Cavs were to sweep, James would have to be the GOAT considering how little of a chance they give him against this "super team"

I think after last year's finals people who hated him at least admitted they respected him.

The Warriors best player is terrified of LeBron and most everyone else got bitched by him last year.
Why are people talking sweep?
Why are people talking sweep?

Casual fans love great players and dynasties
Lebatard is wrong
ETA: he would have been right if he said the Riley era Knicks were champs, nobody likes to watch ugly, plodding basketball. The warriors are fun to watch for non-basketball fans

There has never been a more talented team more undeserving of an NBA title than the 2017 Warriors.

I wanna ask PJ his thoughts on the series before I even give my assessments and predictions.

This Golden State team is not invincible.

It wont be a sweep, but the Warriors are gonna tap that arse and shell is gonna cry a river.

no more Harrison
They probably win that series without him last year

say that Kevin Durant joining a championship-level team, that had already won one and broke a single-season wins record, is a bitch move.
Meh. So what you are saying is that you wouldn't accept a job that offered equal or better pay, a more desirable work environment, and in a better location?
Why is it that we hold athletes to a different standard than what we follow in our own lives?

Well isn't that why they got KD? He is that guy that you can throw the ball to and just go get a bucket.

Their 3 headed rotation at Center has played really well post allstar break.
Losing Harrison is trumped by gaining KD.
As far as Iggy goes, it was said to be knee soreness, so 9 days of rest should remedy that.

Do people know how incredibly rare it is for a Finals team to get swept?
Last team to get swept in a Finals was 10 years ago.
Cleveland.
With LeBron James.

The situation back then was just a little different, right?
Posted on 5/26/17 at 6:17 am to Roaad
Unlikely.
One year boston bird/mchale/chief beat lakers magic kareem by 30 in opener. Mchale sprained ankle in impressive win.
And then...
Lakers won 4 straight. Each by fg or ot.

For the good of the league overall. Like it or not, NBA players have unprecedented power that no sport has ever seen w/ only 5 guys on the court at a time for each team.
There's a happy medium somewhere to enjoy your FA options, w/out making a mockery of the spirit of competition those that preceded KD instilled in the league.
It's sacreliguous to join up with the rival who bounced you, esp one that had 73 wins & was already stacked. IMO, it was a selfish, cowardly, short cut move that harmed the product on the floor in terms of the balance with all 30 teams. Others will disagree & are entitled to their opinion.
