Surprised to see two picks of "After The Goldrush" already. That has been my personal "desert island" record for many years. Cowgirl.... was on "Everybody Knows..."...great album. My next favorite Neil Young record is not a Neil Young record, "Deja Vu".. Kinda wish his tracks on there would have been with Crazy Horse instead of CSN&Y. After those three there are about 5-6 that I couldn't choose just two from. Love some of the live stuff, too.

Everybody knows this is nowhere
Ragged Glory
Weld
The rest (not counting live albums) I usually just listen to the tracks I love not the whole albums.

...a little R&R trivia... Ronnie Van Zandt was actually a liberal pacifist, advocated gun restrictions and wrote maybe the first pro-gun control song. He had huge admiration for Neil Young's music, quoted Neil as one of his main influences. They were also close friends, Neil wrote "Powderfinger", and first offered it to Ronnie along with two other songs for Skynyrd to record. Ronnie even wore a "Neil Young" T-Shirt on the cover of Street Survivor and many say he was buried wearing a Neil Young T-Shirt. Anyway, Van Zandt and the band members were from south Florida, anti-George Wallace Alabama and anti-"southern redneck" sentiments. Even though "Sweet Home..." seems to suggest a feud with Young, the Confederate flags on stage to suggest racism, band members have explained many times the "Sweet Home Alabama" was simply a hook with a rhyming scheme and in no way personal sentiments of the band.

The flag suggests southern heritage and pride. It was never associated with racism in the 70's. Similar to the rainbow flag that was commonly associated with Hawaii in those days, as opposed to LBGTQRSTUZ it now represents.

The flag suggests racist white folks making a lazy excuse to preserve their minority-hating tendencies.

and neil young apologized for his song "alabama" off of harvest, saying "it "richly deserved the shot Lynyrd Skynyrd gave me with their great record. I don't like my words when I listen to it. They are accusatory and condescending, not fully thought out, and too easy to misconstrue."

I can play that game
agree with a Man Needs a Maid, thats maybe the worst Neil Young song period. There's a World sucks too. Harvest is pretty hit or miss tbh
I actually like Welfare Mothers, I think I dislike Sedan Delivery a lot more on Rust Never Sleeps
trying to think of one on Zuma but i almost like every song on that album. along with After the Gold Rush, there's not a "bad" song
