Best place to move?

Hello, long time lurker, first post.
Where is a good place in the South to get a fresh start?
I'm wanting to live somewhere that has kept its Southern culture, so some big cities will probably be out. I like to fish, hunt, and boat, and would prefer to be within 3 or 4 hours of a baseball stadium (preferably Rangers or Braves but I could live with watching them play the Astros).
The less traffic the better, and the closer to those 4 things the better. Unfortunately after living in Texas for awhile I can say that besides maybe the eastern part it is much more into being "Texas" than being Southern.
I will be having kids in 4 years so if you can recommend me some neighborhoods with nice schools and low crime that would be appreciated too.
My thoughts so far are Madison, Mississippi (even though it's far as hell from a baseball stadium), Mountain Brook, Alabama and Bossier City, Louisiana, just from lurking this site and a few others, although these areas get shite on a lot for being boring.

The Mississippi Braves are in Jackson they are a Double A team. We used to bring my son to the games. It's fun and cheap.

Don't do something you are really going to regret in a few years. Asheville is the place for you. Less than three hours from Charlotte with all of the outdoor adventure you can handle. Some of the nicest, most laid back people on the planet too.

If you really are a long time lurker and not trolling with this post, prepare to get destroyed.
