"Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans: The Battle That Shaped America's Destiny" ~by Brian Kilmeade
After listening to his interview on Fox News on Friday.
I like books on local history and Civil War books are starting to get my interest.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. One may disagree with some of Jackson's principles, but damn was he a bad arse.

Thanks, Glass. I’ll add them to my list. I’ve got about 20 books on my shelf and no telling how many on my kindle waiting to be read. Finished Enemy of the State last night and starting Kiss and Tell by Luke Murphy today. He’s a new author I’m checking out.
Jolly, jolly Christmas to you, too

When you’re done with the Rapp series, check out Kyle Mills original character books. He picked up the Rapp series after Flynn passed. His first two are next on my hit parade after Kids & Tell.

I thought your son was relatively new. Or did I get you confused with another Bama poster?

Your consumption of books is impressive. By the time I put my three kids to bed, I am usually too exhausted to read.

Thanks. Pretty easy when it's just me... Long story which is why I'm reading so much
On another note. I watched American Assassin yesterday (which is the 'first' book of the Rapp series) and Vince Flynn rolled over in his grave at how much it didn't even remotely stick to the book. They had the names of the main characters correct basically and everything else was thrown out of the window. It's sad that Flynn, the author, passed away at 47 of prostate cancer in 2013.

Doing some light history reading, God's Battalions: The Case for the Crusades.
This is just a quick review of the history of the Crusades.

I think you should read Brad Thor next. Harvath is very similar to Rapp and Thor is a good writer. Quick reads like Flynn.
Mills also does a good job with Rapp following Flynn. I’ll have to check out his original characters.
Rapp is number 1 by a mile for me with Harvath next.

I'm ordering the Use of Force, Thor's new book, with my Christmas book money. Can't wait to get it. Also just got James Rollins newest book Demon Crown.

Onto The Survivor which is the first Kyle Millis book of the Rapp series. Only 35 pages in, so I can't judge

I just finished The Frontiersman by Johnston. A goofy mountain man book. I picked it up at the library by accident. Was looking for one by a similar name that was more factual. Anyway, started No Country for Old Men tonight. About 30 pages in and I am hooked.
