i thought the one lady who had the repressed memories of the worst abuse (his cum was the holy spirit type shite) and who said Maskell showed her the body was woefully unbelievable.

We finally finished it on Sunday evening. I'll say this, everyone one of those high school girls in the yearbook photo montage/opening credits look pretty danged good.
In all seriousness, in the episode where they investigate the Uncle Billy and Skippy angle, they mention a "Bobby" as being the 3rd person. I kept expecting them to say "hmm, I wonder if it's the same person as the 'Brother Bob' mysterious figure", but they never did. In fact, they never really discussed Bobby other than in passing about how he was the 3rd person who tagged along.
Another thing that bothered me is that they mentioned a witness seeing Catherine being driven away in her car (which insinuates that she was being kidnapped and would probably be killed on said trip), but then you have the other story of Billy, Skippy, etc being at the apartment complex and carrying a rolled up rug to the car.
My guess is that storyline is BS and Edgar probably started doing some gay stuff with Billy and Skippy and then had an altercation leading to the bloody clothing.

Also...why did the show completely gloss over the fact that Koob said the cops had a wrapped up "V" and tossed it on the table in front of him? No one followed up on this? Not to mention the fact that Koob claimed she rejected his proposal days before she went missing (in the first episode) and then in the last episode she supposedly wrote this letter saying she wanted to bear his children.
The Koob angle was very odd to me in that the series investigators didn't seem to delve more into the possibility that he could have been involved.

I meant that they didn't bother trying to find (or at least didn't say so in the show) coroners reports to verify whether body parts had been removed from the body or not. They have a guy saying it happened, and another guy saying that he doesn't think it happened. Remember, the cop they interview throughout the series was not around and wouldn't know for sure if a tactic like that was used. I doubt the PD would document that "so and so threw a vagina on the table".

You are probably right. It's hard to remember details like that when you rush through a show in a weekend. Regardless, the letter (that he supposedly received after she disappeared) contradicts her prior rejection of him. That was the point I was making.

You're right, they did. It seems like they focused an entire episode on Edgar and his posse and glossed over the Koob stuff.
The black chick with the glasses seemed like a typical person in power who is probably getting paid via other means. Reminds me of Corrine Brown, the "Go Gata" woman from Congress.

One of the big things that bothers me is that the guy that made this documentary didn't show photographs of some of the other "suspects" to Jane Doe/Roe to see if they were "Brother Bob". I know that Jane Doe claims that she has no memory of the man's face, but maybe photos would help trigger a memory? Or maybe he did and nothing came of it and he didn't feel the need to include it.
Posted on 5/30/17 at 3:24 pm to VinegarStrokes
Yeah, that's an interesting observation. My main takeaway from the doc was that a lot of these victims were finally given a sympathetic voice for airing their grievances. I found most of the women to be dogged and inspiring. The average intelligence seemed pretty high. And it seems all but certain that collusion among the powers that be prevented the prosecution of heinous crimes against some of the more defenseless members of society.

I really feel like it was Koob who did it b/c he was pissed that she turned him down.
Posted on 5/30/17 at 11:59 pm to Zach Lee To Amp Hill
Jane Doe had a crazy story but based on the other stories it wasn't that far fetched. Jane Roe said two cops were involved.
Koob probably did it. He gave her an out and she turned him down, Maskell wanted her gone and he could cover for him. It wasn't crazy Ed or gay Billy.

I found her mostly believable. However, I don't believe she was ever shown the body. I think she believes she did, but her method of "re-remembering" seems ripe for false memories.
Also, wtf with the part where the one priest claims they threw her vagina on the table? Was it mentioned anywhere else that she was butchered like that?

I had put this in my watch list today. Once I am done with HOC, I am on it

This documentary has become painfully boring (currently on the final episode, thank God).. I was intrigued through the first two episodes, but after that it's just a bunch of crazy old bats rambling and a lot of "he said, she said".
should have really been 4 or maybe 5 episodes. It just kind of dragged towards the end.

I feel it could have been a 90 minute documentary. They really dragged the whole thing. How many times can you show the same five photographs over and over again. I watched it all the way through, but it was no where as good as How to Make a Murderer.

yeah, no shite.
"hmmm, we need to make this segment a little creepier? let's show that portrait of the priest again"
"still not creepy enough? tell that long-haired blonde chick to walk down the hallway again"

i agree with this. unless the show results in someone uncovering some key evidence or generate some nationwide interest in the case, then no way can it even be considered in the same stratosphere.
because of making a murderer, Steven Avery might wind up with a new trial and Brendan Dassey might win an appeal and get released.
The only thing that has happened so far with The Keepers is that the Baltimore PD dug up Maskell's body and did a DNA comparison to crime scene evidence (probably the cigarette) and came away with no match, which is stupid because Cousin Billy is supposedly the one who smoke that type of cigarette and he should be the one that gets dug up.

Four episodes in and it is readily apparent that there was a cover up of what was occurring at the school. Pretty sickening stuff.
