But TLDs and such aren't really baitcast, right? Wouldn't that just be considered a lever drag?

Yeah but he said mahi and wahoo so I assumed he meant conventional and doesn't need to cast.
Honestly the TLD's are great for kayak trolling and impossible to beat for the price imo: light, proven, dependable, and cheap so if you lose one overboard they won't kill you. Outside of that, I'd maybe get something in Japan as they may have crap that's not sold in the states.
