Astros looking to force the fish to continue to deep throat their "barrels" and bring great harm to flamingos in the process. Then it's back home for a very important homestand.

Day game

Didn't get to watch last night because I had to go to our shop and fix some shite. Looking at the box score I missed a fun one

Remember that time Ludlow traded Jarred Cosart and Kike for Jake and Martes

If I stream this game at work what's the over/under on my IT department asking me a few questions before the sixth inning?

So when does Michael Feliz start getting higher leverage innings?

If memory serves, he's been in a few spots this year already. Also, we found Sipp's role last night.

Yes, let's all hope that we have plenty of 9 run blow-outs that he can come in and pitch the late innings.

I think AJ has been managing the Bullpen arms pretty effectively. The Astros ran into issues late in the season in 2015 because the BP was overused. Neshak, Harris, Gregorson... all faltered late in the season due to over use.

This season, AJ is letting his starters go late into the games - he seems to really be pushing it in this regard (last night excluded). I'm hoping the team continues to perform offensively to lighten the load on the big-4 BP arms: devenski, harris, gregs, giles. The health of those four arms will be crucial in sept and Oct.

Getting one more reliable arm (preferably lefty) in July who can shoulder some of the load will be big too IMO

He's only been in one 'save situation' spot all season, back on April 6th when he came in with the bases loaded and no outs with a one-run lead in the 6th inning. And he got a blown save for letting one inherited runner score.

And he came in for the 6th inning in a tie game on April 21st... Astros took the lead in the top of the 7th and he got a win.

Since then, no holds, no blown saves, no wins, and only one run allowed. Now, he might have come in a few times in tight games that the Astros were losing and kept it close for the bats... that doesn't show up in the stats.

Rosenthal article speculates we could be in the Gerrit Cole sweepstakes if Pitt sells. Not much substance to the article so basically DAT could do Ken's job

who do you move out of the BP to make this move?

I know Sipp is the obvious answer -- but what *if* he has turned it around, and last night's Sipp is here to stay?

Hoyt has shown enough to get strike outs.
Harrison, Gregs, Giles -- not going anywhere (unless they are part of the trade? In that case, it better be a hell of a back-end arm that the Astros get.)
Devo isn't going anywhere.
Feliz -- maybe he's trade bait? I don't think so.

Sipp has to be the guy... but if he truly does get back to 2015 form, I wouldn't want to move him.

Man I remember Ryno being so pissed that Kike was traded, actually he probably still is angry.

Cole and Archer are the two guys I really want. I like Estrada but his stuff is probably a notch below those two. He would be a nice third option though if those two don't work out. I think Cole would come cheaper than Archer

Odds are someone else will be on the market as well, just like Price came on the market last year. Just have to get closer to the deadline to see who will be included. Luckily this start has afforded the Astros the luxury of not having to rush into making a trade and allowing them to see the full landscape before pulling the trigger on a deal.

Peacock is pitching well enough to move to another team for a low minor lottery ticket.

We could also offer to trade Sipp while still paying his salary if we get a controllable lefty reliever (Brad Hand, please) back in return.

I think that Peacock has been doing really well in multiple roles to this point. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him.
