Congrats man, 6 months is a hell of an accomplishment.
As someone who relapsed a few times and now has years, I can say never get complacent.
It can take between 2-6 years for your brain to start fully working correctly again and at least 2 for you to start really getting into a good grove and not have to worry about cravings. Never put your guard down, especially not now.
It'll only get easier and better.
I really don't like 12 steps type programs, but it works for some. Anyways, my point is, find something that works for you.
Good luck. If you ever need someone to contact, for anything, just make a thread or respond to a post of mine and I'll give you my email. Not trying to sound cocky, but most things you'll go through the next year or so (cravings, making amends/patching up relationships, etc) I've been through and would love to be able to help anyone.
Good luck and prayers sent.

Funny how it always ends up being severe isolation at the end. I used to leave bars with friends just to go home and drink by myself
I didn't realize the shite I did until I got sober. I'd go to the casino to drink after the bars were closed. Wouldn't even gamble, didn't think much of it then.
Talking with a friend I tried to convince myself and him that I can go out and have 1 or 2 beers. I do it all the time. Then he said, well how much do you drink when you get home?

Good luck on your 13th step brotha, lots of thirsty young ladies in those rooms. Was easily the most fun step for me!

I'd spend roughly $50 at the bar and then buy a bottle of Turkey and a six pack on the way home.
One of the benefits of being sober is I don't give a frick about getting pulled over. I know that's bad, but I would laugh at JUST getting a speeding ticket. You mean it's only $180. That's it. No probation. No classes. No drug testing. Cool. Here, take $360. I'll pay for the guy behind me in line.

Congrats, man. Fear not about the troubles with social life. The same resolve it takes to quit booze will take you even farther socially. It really is an attitude that will benefit you in all things. It's a completely new beginning. Best of luck.

Oh trust me, how much money and time was wasted. The first time around I didn't want to listen. I said to myself I wasn't like them, I was in control. How wrong I was.

Hey, I had plenty of fun. I don't want to moderate or be in control.
I was a professional partier.
frick playing intramurals.

Oh I had fun, but I wanted my life back and certainly don't want to spend the next 10 years or so in jail.
At the end I was just filled with so much hate and anger.

You definitely have my respect. I went through the pangs of alcoholism with my dad. We had a very close relationship but he couldn't let go of the booze. Hell, I've seen him drink a half pint of whiskey before going to teach his Sunday school class at church to either settle his nerves or get up his nerve. I never really knew which.
Anyway, he had a real embarrassing moment that put me over the top with him one day. As he was checking out what he had cooking on the pit, I made up my mind to finally face him about his problem. After a heated exchange, I told him that if he didn't do something about his problem I would never be back.
Three days later he called me from the hospital to say he was drying out. I can honestly say he never took another drop of whiskey or beer.
