Usually the higher the number, the better...but how much better is 240 motion rate compared to 120 in Samsung?

Native 240 is decently better than native 120, but the key word is native. The marketing BS where they tell you it's super motion 240 are actually native 120 and that's when you get into the soap opera effect.

Native 120Hz is plenty fine.

Samsung is the king at inventing marketing bullshite like QLED. Like Hog mentioned 240 is really 120hz but there are more step up features in those 240 motion rate models. Better processing, black levels, color, etc. If you are looking at a 120 motion rate you might as just buy whatever TV is buik stacked at the Walmart IMO.
