Did Samsung stop selling the KS8000 series?

Can't find it in 65" and Amazon/Best Buy both say that it is no longer available.
Looks like they still sell the curved KS8500 though.

KS is 2016 model, MU is 2017

Well that's disappointing. The MU gets terrible reviews compared to the KS. Guess I'll keep waiting.

That's because the KS series was part of Samsung's flagship line, the MU series is not, only the QLED line are the flagship series this year.
The MU line is a pretty poor offering at an extremely inflated price. Don't get one.

No shite? I guess they had to find a way to pay for all of those recalled phones huh.

Nah, those are completely different divisions and Samsung's stock continues to climb dating back to last year it's had huge growth, nearly doubled actually, the Note thing wasn't even a blip on the radar for a company that large across so many divisions.
But yeah their new offerings are pretty poor.
The KS8000 is the predecessor to this years Q7F, but the KS8000 scores better in a majority of the tests.
If you were buying a new TV around that price range and wanted a 2017 model, the Sony X930E is the top dog.

I'm thinking about the 75" in the Ks9000 series, but I haven't been tracking those prices. Is $4800 a good price, or has it gone lower?
Posted on 5/15/17 at 4:16 pm to AnonymousTiger
They're $3700 on Amazon.

Usually the higher the number, the better...but how much better is 240 motion rate compared to 120 in Samsung?
Posted on 5/15/17 at 5:44 pm to LSUTIGERTAILG8ER
Native 240 is decently better than native 120, but the key word is native. The marketing BS where they tell you it's super motion 240 are actually native 120 and that's when you get into the soap opera effect.
Native 120Hz is plenty fine.

Maybe a little dated, but this shows how Samsung models are so named:

What is the difference between the 900d and the 9000?

Thanks. I've never been a fan of buying refurbished. Never know.

Samsung is the king at inventing marketing bullshite like QLED. Like Hog mentioned 240 is really 120hz but there are more step up features in those 240 motion rate models. Better processing, black levels, color, etc. If you are looking at a 120 motion rate you might as just buy whatever TV is buik stacked at the Walmart IMO.
