Of course not.

I thought we were just talking about these last 2 years as Danny worked on finding his footing compared to this rotation they have going now and what they'll do in the future.

Then there's no way you could honestly believe this version of the show is anywhere near as good as the past ~10 years

It's not, it's exactly like it was when SVP left... Russillo rotating co-hosts, give it time.

Damn that was pretty sad but props for owning it. I've always felt like your best bet is to own your worst moments

Had a friend who came to a party and peed in a non-bathroom and she totally owned it. She was virtually disliked on some level by most of us, plus no one likes the drunk one peeing in the cabinet, but by owning it we all gained respect for her.

Sorry for partying.

give it time.

My counterargument is twofold:

1. Russillo is under a contract that is not impermanent. If you value his program why devalue it by changing the co-host?

2. Idk what the actual ratings are, but out of all the worthless ESPN programming this is one of the shows that should've been made a priority to maintain. It's a 3 hour show in a good time slot Nationwide.

Maybe they knew they had a better talent in Cain

ETA: And yes, thatsme predicting he becomes the permanent co-host.

Actually, it's one of the lesser watched time slots.

Russillo is only under contract for~1 year so I doubt they're going to try and permanently add a second Co host

It's a radio show. I didn't say television program. In a good time slot bc people in most of the country are in transit from work and those with flexible schedules usually can listen to the radio during that time of the day if they want.

Not a fan of Cain. He's likeable enough but doesn't have the personality for the show.

It's not really a good radio timeslot either, between lunch and drive time.

that's a great time for a radio show. A ton of sports fans don't work 9-5 so 1-4 pm catches a lot of people heading home.

Just for a point of reference, what's your favorite sports radio programming?

Am I giving Cain to much credit when I say he's WAY to smart to be doing this job?

I have always enjoyed listing to him.

I don't think they'll go with a permanent Co-host bc Russillo's contact runs out in ~a year and based on his comments after the layoffs it didn't sound like he or ESPN are planning on renewing. I think there just going to let his show run its course and cut ties.

Not meant to be negative, but what sports radio show do you try to catch whenever possible, if any? Honest question

Dude can hold his own. He's pretty funny. He's quick and witty. He's pretty conservative.

I sort of like Will Cain, but he is such a try hard and is incredibly combative. That's not the feel of the show. It's always been way more laid back.

I can see how ESPN thinks he might be an easy Danny replacement, mainly because of his conservative views. But if they do that, it'll just be another misjudgment on their part.

Russillo and SVP was money but I didn't care for Kannel so I stopped listening. Sounds like it's even worse now. IMO Russillo has also started believing his own hype a little much.
