Mitch said Beauvoir turned it down. Probably partly because Mitch wouldn't cover any transportation costs....which supports his narrative that no one wants the statues.

Were the Barracks part of the city then?

You realize that the city limits moved over time.

The Barracks have historically been part of Orleans Parish

Leave it to somebody like Mitch to turn on an old family friend (AND campaign contributor) to score political points. What a loser...

Landrieu was an idiot for mentioning him by name. That man like Benson have given millions to the people of this city. His is a name not everyone knows but if you google it, you will see all the charities and people he has helped.

Great read, excellent article.

I think someone has something on Mitch, though.

I have never seen a politician as hellbent as he is with destroying history.

Mitch Landrieu is part black. It's his history.

I gather that from reading his article. Sounds like a great human being and a wonderful supporter of New Orleans.

How is he an embarrassment?

Because he's a complete failure in every way that matters while focusing on things that not only don't matter but are very divisive.

Because it's a completely fabricated Leftist SJW issue designed solely to make money and gain political influence. It's fricking stupid.
