Is a summer trip to Colorado feasible without a car?

I want to do the basic stuff. Some hiking in the mountains, pot shops, maybe a Rockies game, maybe some trout fishing, etc
Can it be done without a car? I'm too young to get a rental.

Are you also too young to use Google?
Year around Winter Park shuttles
Airport to mountains shuttles
Also, Greyhound can be your friend. I booked one from Banff to Calgary so I'm sure you can find one in Colorado.

I'm spending three weeks this August without a car. Uber to the trail head. Shuttles from Breck back to Denver. Shouldn't be tough if you are staying in Denver.

21+ can rent cars with the big agencies. Some even allow 19+ depending on the renter.
Will be an extra fee per day or you can shop around and find a discount code that waives the under 25 fees.

You can get around with lyft if you hike the foothills. CME goes to the mountains, bustang is an option too.

I'll have to look into that. I thought you had to be 25 no matter what.

No, at 25 it is just cheaper

Boulder is your best option. You can get the shuttle from DIA. But you might never come back- just saying.

Yep. We had some interns at a former job get gouged on renting a car after a flight to Texas for work. Granted they were reimbursed for it, but after that they just made sure older folks were the ones on the rental instead.

another question- where is the place to go for hiking?
i'm not talking about 5 day/backcountry trails, but not something too easy either

dayhikesneardenver.com is a good resource. As the name implies, it has reviews of and directions to lots of trails in the foothills.

You can move easily around Denver and uber to Boulder costs like $30.

Under 25 you can only rent small basic cars. at 25, you unlock the rest.

Boulder... But you might never come back
Because it has become too expensive, you won't be able to afford to leave, and you will live out the rest of your days as a bum.

He'll come back with the damn quickness unless he stumbles into a high paying job.
