Talented guy. Highly criticized for quitting the team to prepare for the draft after his 3rd concussion. A lot of people thought he might be drafted despite that, because he does have the potential to be disruptive.

so after 3 concussions, he quit playing football, in order to get ready to play a more violent kind of football?

Play for free in college. Get paid in the pros.

He is willing to get concussions if he is paid to get them. Not gonna do it for free anymore.

Will be the DL version of Damien Swann.

Now this guy has more of a shot to beat out Mabry than the other DT we signed. Still think Mabry wins out but we need a DL for the PS.

I sure as hell wish I was athletic enough to play in the NFL, but on the other hand stories like this make me feel fortunate that I have multiple career options

Severity matters. And some guys say they've probably had about 20 in their careers.
Swann came back from 3 no problem. Then he gets a leg injury last year.
PJ had one and he could possibly be done.

Sub 5.0 (4.96) at 310 pounds at the Combine; 25 reps on the bench press, almost 34 inch arms. There's some physical tools there.

Walker grew up in the lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, where he lived until Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005. Walker bounced between a few states after that, eventually moving back to NOLA and, finally, to the Dallas area, where he attended South Garland High School.

Ian Rapoport, NFL.com: Oklahoma defensive tackle Charles Walker has battled depression his entire life. He just didn't know it until he left school and declared for the NFL Draft. This is according to letters from Walker and his doctor, Ashley Benjamin, MD, recently sent to teams. Benjamin wrote, 'based on my military, coaching, and sport psychiatry backgrounds, I believe that Mr. Walker's depression is currently in full remission and is not a limitation for NFL-level competition.'"

Worth a cheap look. Get him several reps during mini camp and preseason practice and a little during the Preseason and then place him on the PS.

This seems like a fantastic UDFA signing!
