Nobody in this thread hires or fires head coaches at LSU. I'm a fan. I will support this team even though I don't agree with every decision.

I don't agree with all of PM's decisions either, especially the ones that don't work.

OMG the program was built. WTH is wrong wit you people. Also PMS only World Series championship was from Smokes players he had recruited. Now explain to what PM Has done since his only championship. That's right crickets. I can't believe you people want to back PM. he freaking sucks as a head coach.

ALL sweeps matter - it's all in front of them!

You're a damn fool. Smoke couldn't win with the players he recruited. He had a losing SEC record his last year, finished 8th out of 12 teams and didn't go to a regional. Skip fired him.

We're 6-0 against the two worst teams in the conference. 7-8 against everyone else.

Alabama is SEC Baseball's version of 2016-2017 LSU Basketball.

I want to be optimistic as much as anyone, but I don’t see it yet.

We were 1 for our last 4 going into the series.

Unless our starting pitchers all start playing well the rest of the way I don't see this offense consistently hitting good pitching well enough to overcome our inconsistent weekend rotation of late. We'll be seeing a lot of quality pitchers these final nine games.

Baseball's a crazy sport. Here's to hoping this team surprises me the rest of the way.

To dumb arse who said that Paul
Manieri won the CWS with Smoke's players, you are dead wrong! That was Year 3 of the Mamieri era! Most of Smoke's players were gone! There was a cleaning house of a lot ic then when he came aboard. And even there were some of Smoke's players were still around, Manieri did a better job with them than Smoke did. That is the dumbest comment someone can make.

And to all of these sports Bar heries who would fall over your feet getting off the bar stool, if you tried to coach or play the game, you talk how we need to get rid of Manieri and this or that.. Quit saying 'we'. You don't play.., you aren't part of the team. None of you gutless cowards have the guts to go to TJ Ribs and say what you what post hear to his face because are sniveling cowards,

We're 6-0 against the two worst teams in the conference. 7-8 against everyone else.

State is 6-0 against Georgia/TN, 8-7 otherwise
Arkansas is 5-1 against GA/Bama, 8-7 otherwise
A&M is 5-1 against Bama/TN, 7-7
Auburn is 4-2 against GA/UT, 10-5

See a pattern?

Better teams are all about .500 against each other, and stockpile wins against the crappy teams.

Auburn has obviously played the best, they haven't played Bama in a series yet

lol really they sweep the worse team in the SEC. this sweep means nothing
It counts the same in the standings as if we swept anybody else.

Alabama baseball = LSU basketball, but it's still 3 victories though.

Don't get too excited over sweeping the gumps bc basically everyone does it. They're hot garbage. You can't say lsu has turned the corner and is hitting their stride and making improvements bc they sweep bama when we needed to and should have.

This for crying out loud. All of a sudden were Omaha bound again right?
Lets see how we fare at home against SC this weekend. Maybe we have built some momentum. A sweep of SC, or even taking 2 out of 3, would be a huge step in the right direction. Using the Bama series as a barometer for improvement is just plain dumb.

I don't think anyone is saying we are great now but we did what we were supposed to do and LSU is now one game out of first in the west with 9 to go.

Something should be said about the green light with Pap on 3-0 count in the 11th.

If Pap had grounded out right there CPM would have been roundly criticized for that.

Pap has been seeing the ball as well as anyone on the team lately. Even with a .220 BA, his OBP is among the highest on the team.

If there's one guy in the lineup who deserves the benefit of the doubt at 3-0 it's Pap.
