re: ESPN LSU Correspondent David Ching part of mass layoffs

I stopped watching ESPN mostly because it wasn't interesting to me anymore. The content besides live sports just isn't for me. The talking head shows just couldn't keep me intrigued. I can see any live sport highlights through multiple outlets and catch most of my news on these boards.
It wasn't so much the content (although I do believe it leaves much to be desired), I just lost interest in keeping up with any of it.

Hate to hear about these layoffs.
How will this effect all the coverage LSU (baseball in particular)gets on the WatchESPN app via SECN+
For baseball, EVERY game has been broadcast via the ESPN app.
Will that continue? I'm a season ticket holder for football, but losing baseball coverage would suck!!

Stephen A Smith and Jemille Smith should have been let go. They're terrible.

I literally don't watch any of the personalities. I only watch live broadcast.

They got rid of Kanell? What the hell.
I bet their show was awkward today.

Their show hasn't been the same since SVP left. Sucks for the people getting laid off, but ESPN is sinking ship due to extra liberal media.

I actually kind of like Kanell on the show. I mean no one could be as good as SVP but Kanell did a good job and kept the show entertaining. Sucks that he got fired and The Lebatard show still exists.

Karma is a bitch. I hate ESPN. They were good 15 years ago before they became the SJW sports network. Hope the NCAA is next and the Power 5 conferences pull out for their own league.

ESPN...liberal...election...congress...you people are fricking retarded. ESPN sucks because their original programming is boring, pre-packaged afterbirth from their days where Stuart Scott called players as cool as the other side of the pillow, etc. (30 for 30 is great, though).
The writing was on the wall more than a year ago. Cowherd, Skip, and Grantland's Simmons were the first wave of cost-cutting. The internet has democratized live events, including sports, making decade-long, billion-dollar TV rights deals too financially burdensome to balance with the sportscaster parrots that now anchor the sportcenter desk and the "color analysts" who just recite the tired tropes of broadcast-speak during the Taxslayer Bowl.
This shite ain't hard to figure out.

Would it potentially harm LSU revenue because of sec tv contract ?

Ryen is on vacation. Adnan did it solo. Was very emotional in the opening segment

Republicans control government due to rigged gerrymandering. They hate Americans too. They can't blame anyone for the the pain train that's leaving the station.

Wishful thinking by bigotted conservatives. The cord cutting theory is much more believable.
The cord cutting is the main reason but their liberal point of view is definitely speeding up the process. SEC Network is the only entity that realizes that their viewership is made up of southern conservatives for the most part and they mainly just show games and highlights and stay away from the political side of things.

So Trent Dilfer and Jayson Stark are out but we get at least one more year of Finebaum fellating Alabama football? Gotta love ESPN.

This has to be a major problem for them right now. Caught some daytime ESPN the other day in a waiting room and couldn't imagine how they were affording to pay all these people to say the same thing over and over every 30 minutes. They oughta do it like local news, one in the morning and one in the evening... plus the SVP late nite just cuz SVP is the man

ESPN as been hemorrhaging customers since 2011, basically since LSU stopped competing for national championships.
ESPN better hope O gets this thing turned around.

I take it there are at least 6 people who thinks everything is political.

No matter how you spin it, some here will ONLY see it as being political. These are the ones who allows politics to take over everything in their lives.
Their self identity is completely absent as a the party agenda has now consumed them.
