Our pitching has been inconsistent but I think this is the first series this year that we didn't get good enough pitching to win the series.

OTOH, out hitting is disastrous. If you only look at stats, the UGA and OM game1 blowouts will skew things.

IMO, CPM and Gibbs need to decide on a lineup, stick with it, let the players adjust, and roll with it. We are way too into the season to be playing musical chairs with the lineup.

Two steps forward last weekend, one step back this weekend. I haven't lost hope.

The hitting is what it is. I'm more concerned about the disaster pitching this weekend

Calm down, Romero is starting to get at bats. That's all that was missing according to the experts.

we live off of "seeing eye" singles with an occasional homer and even more rare knock in a gap.

it's hard to tell what pitches we hit but it looks to me that they ain't off speed pitches, esp curves or sliders. i'm afraid the book on our hitters is widespread and we can't hit breaking stuff.

No panic. Just if we're going to make a run our players need to know their roles in the lineup. At present, they don't.

I posted the SEC stats on our pitching. After this series we will be ranked 11 with an ERA around 5+.

That's where we are. Lange and Poche are just not good this year or we are not calling the games very well.
That breaking ball of Lange is useless unless he can get it over for a strike once in a while.

It's almost May

Barring a fat girl orgy, this is the kind of hitting we're likely to see from here on out.

It won't though. It's really embarrassing that they could not take advantage of that small ballpark this weekend.

Are you complaining about these things? What other types of hits are there? Of course we live off these.

I think the problem is their approach. Seems like we swing at the first pitch way too often. Maybe they're being told to swing if they see a first pitch fastball since breaking balls are tougher to hit. Unfortunately most of the time it's a miss or an out.

We have a team full of speedy contact hitters who are being coached to lift the ball and swing at anything close to a strike. It's mind bottling.

You're right, in the sense we need to improve our hitting. But I also think we need to improve our pitching and coaching.

At what point do fans just accept this is an ok team who cannot hit consistently. We are way past the point of just believing they will just flip a switch and become a great hitting team. Accept who they are, which is a top 10 or 20 team who will be lucky to make a Super Regional.

Downvote if you are out of touch with reality.

True not enough fire power. To many single hitters. Serious lack of gap power. They have to string 3 singles together to get a run most of the time. So many weak ground balls. Don't work the count and the pitching is starting to look really suspect against good hitting clubs. Look at the size difference between Kentucky and lsu. Today we didn't use beck Gilbert or Newman. Pawl let the game get way outta hand and that's on the coaches Getting really late to think they can turn it on. We're in 5th place in the west and on the road all week where we have a bad record
