In the last 16 years of school I haven't had any of the things you mentioned pushed on me with threat of any kind of penalty.

So you start by saying that my generation is being blindly led or pushed to believe things in school, I tell you I have had no such experience, and some how me NOT being blindly led to believe things like you claim my generation is...makes me naive.
This is why broad generalizations of an entire generation are just silly to me. You know nothing about me just like I know nothing about you. I do know that I would never claim to know something about you based on what year you were born.

You're either extraordinarily naive, or very fortunate.
So maybe I'm naive or just plain ignorant, and/or maybe my experiences were atypical.
Then again, maybe not. Maybe you're overratting the phenomenon. Afterall, what I'd your basis? Personal experiences, empirical data? Because if it's from things like media, then we know that it can skew our views of phenomenon because we are prone to the representative heuristic.
