Depends on the context.

If like seminary, or attached to a larger field of study, then I don't see a problem with it.
Studying it like "gender studies", with no career path in mind, is bad.

Hmmm...Christians number 2.2 billion. Are you for studies of that "belief structure" ( ) also?

Or perhaps you think all the atheists, agnostics, 'cafeteria-participants', unchurched, pagan ritualists, and even its steadfast practitioners are already experts in all aspects of Christian theology and history. If so, OK...

As a course? I agree. It should be offered as one course.

As a major? Hell no.

That goes for all religious studies.
