I've fished half moon once, but not for bass, just bream. I've fished 2 oclock bayou more. I like it better there.
Im gonna make it out to the point one weekend soon if it kills me.

Ok thanks was watching some vids on it and it looks like a nice lil spot, and need to add 2 o'clock and that lil bama? spot to my "need" to fish list

I like Little Alabama as well. Caught a few bass in there the couple times I've gone there.

I fished Bayou Benoit for the first time this past Tuesday and left with 5 keepers. Since it was my first time there I didn't venture too far from the landing. I fished the cypress stumps to the north of the landing and the main canal south of the landing. Looking for suggestions on other areas to hit, not asking for anyone's honey hole, I just don't know where to go from there. I've heard good things about Momma's Pond but I'm not sure how to get there.

I still havent made it out there yet. It on my short list of places I need to go.

Momma's Pond
Grevenburg
Beau Bayou
Oakridge
Crew Boat chute
Water levels will decide if these areas are fishable.

I'm gonna have to bring you out to my secret frog spot when the time is right next year.

Hell yeah
I planned on getting out on the water for a few hours this weekend, but turns out I will be working instead
Janky, We've picked a cabin for our family Toledo Bend trip next summer. We are going to be just north of Hwy 6 (Texas Hwy according to Google Earth), off of Wynnwood Drive. Are you familiar with that area? Is that anywhere near yall's place?

Got a couple days off this week. Finally gonna do some fishing!
Unfortunately I could only take off Wednesday and Thursday. I was trying to get tomorrow and Wednesday so I could fish ahead of the front coming through Wednesday afternoon. But too many other people have off tomorrow. Oh well. I just have to fish when I can.
I guess Wednesday I'm going to try Henderson. Hopefully I can put a few in the boat before the front hits. Then Thursday I may take the kayak out to 2 o'clock or Half Moon. That way if the fishing is bad, at least it'll be a nice paddle. What's the fee for the 2 o'clock ramp?

How far south would I have to paddle before hitting anything "fishable"

Thanks! I think I've figured out where Momma's Pond is. Also one of the older guys at the landing said the fishing in Darby Bayou was good and I know how to get there. It's been a very long time but I've fished Crew Boat chute with my Dad. I think we usually went there when we put in at Charenton Beach. I'll have to ask him about it and try to learn the other places you mentioned.

Hell, when the water is low and clean you can fish the laydowns in the GA and catch fish. Where is darby bayou?
Posted on 11/6/17 at 2:30 pm to Janky
One of our vendor sales reps told me this morning that Beau Bayou is on fire right now..... if you can get to it.
Posted on 11/6/17 at 3:06 pm to PillageUrVillage
Can I throw a dropshot in there?
Posted on 11/6/17 at 5:30 pm to PillageUrVillage
Theres fishable areas almost as soon as you launch in 2 oclock. Ive gone as far as close lake. But the whole bayou has lay downs and structure you can fish.

Good to know. I have an app that gives distance, and it's about 3.5 miles to close lake from the launch. That would be a lot of paddling. How's the cell reception out there?
