We better have gotten that. But it does show those balls are not strikes

That ain't nothing to do with Gurriel knowing his pitchers.

Exactly.

Meanwhile, Gattis is not calling the outside pitch enough.

If you bunt for a base hit, you have to steal early in at bat. Angels must not do analytics very much.

This umpire is calling everything between the plate and the other batter's box a strike and for some reason Gattis wants everything over the plate. Do our players actually pay attention to the games they're playing in?

Angels fired their GM Dipoto for wanting more analytics because old school Scioscia won a World Series 15 years ago.

I start to wonder if Gattis isn't so much a student of the game as far as the intricacies of catching a la McCann or Castro.

Chavez was pounding that lower outside corner to RHB because it was being called a strike. Then the batter has to dive across the plate to defend it. Yet Gattis has set up on that spot like twice.

Early this year, we are already seeing why Gattis is a crappy catcher. He needed to play a lot last year over no-bat Castro. Now, McCann needs to play most days.

Morton playing with fire. Someone please tweet the pitch tracking charts to Gattis between innings.

Maybe when Gattis strikes out on a pitch a foot off the plate, the light bulb will come on for him.

The first pitch of every sequence so far is fastball outside corner. Are we fricking paying attention at all?

Both catchers should be calling 75% of the pitches off the plate.
