Why do you go to Manieri and tell him so. I know he will be thrilled to hear from you and listen to your every word.

FWIW, his OB% is higher than Romeros. At .345 he's patient enough to not be an almost automatic out.

He either needs to bat strictly right handed or let Woley try to catch if Coomes can't or Romero. Watching him bat left handed at the game today from sitting behind the plate that was bad. Whiffed 3 straight times left handed and looked awkward too.

Put a guy behind the plate that hits 15% better and it might make the difference in winning 1...maybe 2 games a year.

Put a guy behind the plate that has 15% more pass balls and 15% more stollen bases allowed and it impacts the final outcome of many games a year in a MAJOR way!!

He does seem to have much better swings from the right side.

Lol no Russian far from it. It's me and my 8 year old son sit about 7 rows above him and off to the 1st base side of plate. Dude is annoying as frick.

He throws out base runners more than twice as often as the average catcher. He is also a better receiver, blocker and framer.

For a team which features a 1-2 rotation of guys that feature a heavy mixture of big breaking balls in their repertoire, the latter is a luxury. For a team which has a 1-2 rotation of guys who have allowed an inordinate amount of base runners, the former provides an excellent method of helping prevent more RISP opportunities for opponents.

I agree he's in a terrible slump and it's his kitchen that's an issue more than anything. That is more a failure of his head coach to lift a finger to hire a competent replacement or arrange his staff in such a manner as one could be found to replace AC.

But while a case could-perhaps-be made for Coomes, Romero is evidently injured and would get run on, creating more pressure on the 1-2 rotation guys who are giving up more baserunners this year than at any time seemingly in the past 3 seasons.

As bad as our hitting has been-and it's been terrible to downright non existent at times-our pitching has been inconsistent. Pap is superb defensively.

How long is this myth going to go on? The other guys aren't great behind the plate but I keep hearing this crap about Pap being another Johnny Bench defensively and I've never seen it. He does have a good arm but his footwork and mechanics are poor if not lazy.

The unsaid driving point behind this is that he's obviously one of Paul's boys so he'll continue to be in the lineup.

They said on the telecast this weekend that his putout rate on steals was like 45%, which is pretty phenomenal

I would worry more about the order! Robertson is struggling! I like Deichman 3rd and Romero 4th! Watson and Smith are hot right now!I say
Freeman
Watson
Deichman
Romero
Coomes
Smith
Robertson
Pap
Duplantis

The day pap leaves LSU is going to be a good day. I wish the guy the best of luck but I honestly have never seen a guy play as much as him and do so little in the hitting department.

Even his grand slam homerun didn't count for shite because we still lost that game

It's not a myth. They mentioned the stats on the telecast. Pap throws out baserunners about twice as much as the average for the position.

You calling me a liar? You didn't even check my knuckles baw. The Sonic at Walker just reopened.

I can go back to the days of Mark Cooper and I don't remember any catcher this weak of a BA.

Pap is our best catcher bar none. We can afford his lack of hitting. It seems every SEC team has at least one player whose bat is absent. Some have two.
