No, no it's not. Your first post in this thread, however, seemed to imply otherwise.
Then you're reading comprehension sucks. That's your problem, not mine.

My blood pressure sky rockets when I eat more than 2000-2500 mg of sodium in a sitting.
Dude, one sitting? That's what you're suppose to take in PER DAY. If that's what you're taking in per sitting then you're getting like three times the recommended amount.

My reading comprehension is fine. Thanks.

Have you noticed how in almost every thread you post in, you end up with a gang of people telling you that you're full of shite? Do you think that might be an indication that you're not anywhere near as smart as you think you are and that you come off as obnoxiously arrogant?

Avoid sugar at all costs and don't eat processed foods. Boom, healthy eating.

And you should as this pertains specifically to your health. In your case, you have a condition that salt is exacerbating, but probably didn't cause.
However, in the grand scheme of things, many doctors are preaching outdated science. Cholesterol is a big one that comes to mind.

A supreme pizza from papa johns has 900mg per slice.
A bowl of hot and sour soup from PF Changes has around 4000mg.
Trust me, it's easy to eat 2000-2500 if you eating fast food or at a restaurant.
ETA: and who said anything about eating that 3 times a day? That was an extreme example. I did eat Chik fila at the airport today. Combo meal was over 1500mg.

Well let's see.
1. The OP links an article written by a woman named Melinda Wenner Moyer who is a

2. I post that I'll trust my cardiologist over said "freelance science writer".
3. You, and Mo joux come and attack me for being "smug" and how dare I think my doctors might know more than this stupid internet link.
I'm not even the one claiming to be smarter than anyone. That's what your arrogant (and ignorant) arse is doing. I'm saying I trust my doctors and you're the one acting like you know better.

Well, my cardeologist told me to limit my sodium to less than 2,000 mg per day. Think I'll trust his word over your link.
Thanks anyway
Darth. The salt correlation is suspect at best and only remotely relevant to SOME patients who already have high BP.

You're exactly right. Trust me, I've learned that all to well when trying to find somewhere we can go to eat now.

I'm not talking about what other people should do. If you read my post, I said "my cardiologist told me". What other people do is up to them and their doctors. And their circumstances are probably different from mine anyway. I never said everyone should take in 2,000 mg per day. Just that's what my Doctor told me to stick to.

I will say that I never realized how much salt I took in until I started living with my sister. She is very sensitive to salt and I am not. I started cooking with it less and less and now notice it much more.
However, decreasing my salt intake has had no measurable impact on any of my blood tests or my blood pressure.

I've cut carbs to < 20/day and my caloric intake to < 1,500/day and I've lost 24 lbs since February 26th. Down 3 sizes in the waist. I have blood work scheduled for the end of May. I'm curious to see how it turns out.

The article linked in the OP actually cited and discussed a scientific journal article. Moreover, it in no way provided medical advice or implied that you should alter any specific medical advice that you have been given personally.
You're the one that decided (had bad reading comprehension) it did, and that you would ridicule the information by citing advice given by your doctors. It was a pretty smug statement that carried with it implications that doctors in general know more than some "freelance science writer". That's why some of us thought it was funny that you had past erroneous medical advice that you had received thrown back in your face.

Once you start monitoring it, you can really tell what is high in sodium. So far the worst thing I've found was a Big Mac. I tried eating one a few weeks ago and threw it away after one bite. It takes like biting into a salt lick.

I guess it affects different people in different ways. I think the main reason my cardiologist wants me to limit my sodium is partially due to my heart condition but also due to how high salt intake leads to fluid retention, which for me can be an issue.

it blows my mind the people who dont read labels or check nutrition online of certain restaurants
youd be blown away at the calories and sodium in most sit down dishes.
Go look up Cheesecake factory or Chilis and places like that, will blow your mind.
