The GOP is going to win this tonight by probably less than 5,000 votes in Ruby Red Kansas. Think about that for a minute.

The DIM won 1 county. ONE. The county which Wichita is in, by only 400 votes. 400 votes in an urban area, and college town. Think about that for a minute

Don't you think a recount may be ordered? Did Putin hack the election?

Has the media reported on this yet? It was a big story they were giddy about this afternoon.

Toddy and montanagator both have gotten eerily silent when the results started to turn against them

Estes won with 54%. GOP keeps the seat. Was on the TV running across the bottom.

The "narrow" win is probably more of a statement on the unpopularity of Brownback than on anything having to do with Trump.

Trump won the presidency with -3,000,000 votes. Think about that and suck on it a while.

this tells you nothing. there's no context unless you also say how many fewer votes the republican got in november. this is a special election, they're not known for high turnouts.

the important context: the difference between 2016 and last night is literally a 20 pt swing.

to break it down further:

Sedgwick (2/3 of district)
Last night: D+1
'16: R+24

Rest of counties (1/3 of district)
Last night: R+26
'16: R+47

Please explain what difference that will make. Jindal was a terrible governor and he was Republican. Until you dimwits start voting for what's best for the State or for America and not what letter is behind their name, nothing will ever change.

I would not be gloating over last night's result if I was a Republican.

Can you imagine if every other district underperforms 2016 like that?

You are comparing the Cong race to the Pres. race for maximum effect

The last Cong race the Repub got 60%. This time he got 54%. 6% difference in an off cycle isn't something to give you hope about

The disdain that the majority of people in the midwest have for progressive politics/politicians will be something that people from California, New York and Massachusetts will never understand.
