Our HS baseball coach must have OCD since he conducts practice same way every day for ever and suffers from leaving in the starting pitcher too long, is afraid to trust other pitchers when he needs to get them in, and cannot change due to having the CPM syndrome.

Treats the field like a golf course and most hitting is in the cages, and off tees and soft toss. Boosters bought a turtle to use to hit on the field since hitting, before the turtle, had to be done after 3:30 when the school parking lot cleared out. Turtle sits in the far corner in left field collecting dust most of the time.
New coach joined the staff and he was allowed to design practices similar to his college practices and the kids went apeshit over the efficiency and productivity and also hitting on the sacred field. After a week, head coach slowly turned practice into the same ole same ole....
But, we win 2/3rds of our games, make the playoffs and lose in the first or second rounds each year. That's good enough for him.

Have a 3rd kid playing there now and finishing up next year. Maybe the new young coach gets his chance in a few years.
BTW, before comments of "your kid must sit the bench" enter your head, forget that - he is a starter and I have no issues with PT but these observations are valid.

You can put Les Miles in the dugout, give him a purple LSU cap, and achieve the same results.

Coach PM must go

The loss of Cannizaro is an obvious problem. It's really hard, even for LSU, to replace a coach like Cannizaro. I was expecting LSU to be a top 5 maybe top 3 team with the amount of returning core talent in the lineup and 2 aces. It's baffling to me how these talented players seem to have regressed in a year that seemed so promising. Hopefully something clicks and the team starts playing some freaking baseball soon!!!

Ok how bout talking to the players after they have a bad at bat? How bout having an approach at the plate against a good pitcher like canni use to huddle em up? How about not throwing a freshmen into the game with 1 inning pitched in garbage time into an sec series and conceding down 2-0?
