To strengthen AQ and IS?
Help the crazy arse rebels?
Is the policy to rid Syria of Assad?
Will Trump come back to Congress for authority?
Trump is looking like he went to Jared?

The point is to drag us into WWIII
Posted on 4/7/17 at 8:19 am to kingbob
WW III is fine as long as it pisses off some libtards
Posted on 4/7/17 at 8:19 am to Rakim
To pay lip service to people who need symbolic military action to feel better about themselves. Aka the GOPe and the warmongering wing of the party

Assad broke his agreement with us not you use chemicals.
Trump just reminded them that you don't piss on us!
Why do you have a problem with this?

Maybe to do exactly what they said...destroy the airfield that provided the plane which was used to drop poison gas on innocent civilians?

Because it will accomplish nothing but chest thumping. You think one air strike is going to accomplish anything?

So we are the judge and jury on all this?
Because I'm old enough to remember "agent orange" and the shite tons of chemical weapons we dropped on Vietnam but go ahead and touch yourself.

I think we are just flexing muscles for the Chinese/North Koreans and the Russians.

Proportional retribution and specific deterrence. It's supposed to give the Syrian regime a moment of pause before they next choose to flout international law. Assad may be a hard case, though.

quote:As W. Bush once said, "This ain't rocket surgery!"
British Prime Minister Theresa May's office said in a statement that the strikes were "an appropriate response to the barbaric chemical weapons attack launched by the Syrian regime, and is intended to deter further attacks."

Since we pretty much are the UN, yes.

I member.
I also member that those types of weapons are now illegal, hence the dick slap we just gave Assad.

To make Assad think twice before he targets civilians or uses chemical weapons again

Yes I do.
We just made the cost of using chemicals more expensive for Assad. The cost now outweigh the benefits. Bet Putin tells Assad to put away his chemistry set and play with his toys that just go boom!

So the US basically comes out in support of Assad which was a huge policy shift. Then Assad goes and uses chemical weapons right after to provoke the US. Makes zero sense.

Bassad is a proxy of Iran...who is hard at work refining their inter-ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads...while screaming "death to America" in the streets. Bassad gasses kids, and not a peep from his benefactors...Iran or Russia.
I can just imagine ten years from now when Iran is nuked to the max like N. Korea, and ready to bring their Madhi down to clean up what they perceive as a heathen civilization. (We might be).
All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good folk to stand by and do nothing.
