How do we proactively eradicate ISIS without "continuing pointless war in the Middle East?

I hear and see the resentment for the years of toiling in the sand and blowing billions of dollars on wars in the Middle East. I know that's a neocon principle, but how can we go after ISIS without everyone flipping out that POTUS is hypocritically continuing in conflicts in the Middle East?
We can't have it both ways. We can't pull out altogether & be isolationist like some of you want AND destroy Isis at the same time.
Looking for level headed discussion.

That'll be the consensus on this board, sadly.

several hundred kamikaze squadrons piloted by john McCain clones
they don't want to crash, but they won't be able to help it.

Honestly i can only think of two different ways to answer this question.
Either completely pull out and isolate us from the region
or continue the "pointless war"

We've seen what ignoring them leads to... exponential growth and spreading to the surrounding areas. Remember when they were just "JV"?....

We stop fighting a "pointless war" and start fighting a war that we want to win. Many of the problems we have in these conflicts come from know-nothing politicians maneuvering for votes or from incompetent military commanders that are looking for their next star or a sweet job after they retire.

So in other words, go in with a clear objective, get in, execute the job & get out?

Be willing to pay a ridiculous amount for oil and gas. Pull out of the Middle East. Isolate it like Cuba or North Korea (possible?).
How much are you willing to pay for gas to stop seeing soldiers in caskets with wives crying over them? frick I will go 6 bucks a gallon.
We'd also have to be willing to turn a blind eye to human atrocities.

But their influence has spread worldwide now.
They are inspiring attacks on almost every continent.

It can't be done.
You don't snuff out ISIS without getting boots on the ground, taking the battle to them directly, the old fashioned way.
The solution really is simple. The problem is that process is long, tedious, costly, and unpopular.

Is that what they even want?
"At this moment, for example, in 1984 (if it was 1984), Oceania was at war with Eurasia and in alliance with Eastasia. In no public or private utterance was it ever admitted that the three powers had at any time been grouped along different lines. Actually, as Winston well knew, it was only four years since Oceania had been at war with Eastasia and in alliance with Eurasia. But that was merely a piece of furtive knowledge, which he happened to possess because his memory was not satisfactorily under control. Officially the change of partners had never happened. Oceania was at war with Eurasia: therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia. The enemy of the moment always represented absolute evil, and it followed that any past or future agreement with him was impossible." 1984, Orwell.
We are experiencing perpetual war and have been since at least WWII.

One major step would be to become energy independent by opening up drilling rights on all available US lands and coastlines. We have TONS of barrels of oil in our own backyards that we can't get. So we are beholden to third world savages that are willing to go after theirs.
If it wasn't for oil the Middle East would be as relevant as Ethiopia and other third world shitholes that don't have any valued resources.

Get them out this country. Put the travel ban on place.
Lets be honest, if they all go back what are they gonna do, kick the dirt?
