I'm not an ESPN subscriber, but BamaOnline posted an article this morning regarding Alabama players in the draft and where Kiper mocked them:

11. Haason Reddick
32. Marlon Humphrey

quote:

From Kiper: "The Saints are trying to pry away restricted free-agent corner Malcolm Butler from the Patriots, but until they do, the position is a weak spot on a defense that gave up the most passing yards per game (273.8) last season. Humphrey (6-0 197) has length, strength, speed and good bloodlines (his father is former NFL running back Bobby Humphrey). I had Haason Reddick going to the Saints with their other first-round pick, and I suspect they'd be happy with two defenders who could step in and play on Day 1."

I'm starting to not hate this idea. I'm just wondering where he would play. We've signed two linebackers already. He isn't projected as an edge rusher, but he can rush the QB.

I could dig it.

I wouldn't like to see us draft Humphrey at 32 though. I think he would have been better off returning to school.

But I'm a huge Alabama homer who wants nothing more than a roster full of Alabama players.

He's another Kikaha. This pick really doesn't make sense. I'm making my first mock so I can show yall what will actually happen.

seriously doubt we pick a LB now but I wouldn't be mad if we did.

even though we addressed the position in FA, there isn't much that has me pumped about it.

Klein and Teo are inside guys

Reddick presumably would be an outside LB w Robertson, Ellerbe, Kikaha

Reddick is athletic enough to play anywhere on the second level.

He was a good enough athlete to play RB in high school.

Forgot about him. Makes more since though Kihaha in with Okafor on the end rotation. Reddick slides in the weakside LB. Still if that's the pick would rather a Jordan Willis/Charles Harris/Tim Williams at 32 as a pure pass rusher instead of Humphrey. A good CB can be had at 42 in this class.

Wouldn't be a huge fan. Humphries is burnt toast.

If we took Humphrey I wouldn't be surprised at all. His dad played in the NFL and we know how much SP loves that NFL pedigree...
