Listening to Wade is very refreshing compared to what we've been used to

And this is after a win. Solid insight and detailed areas of problems and ways to improve. Nothing like our typical feedback we've been used to. Like, "our guys gave good effort we just didn't get it done."

Key word in your post is "detailed". Something JJ really, really lacked.

We're going from unprepared and absolutely no detail, to the extreme opposite. Wade is a detail and analytics guru. A workaholic that pays attention to absolutely everything.

I really disliked when JJ and Miles had that blank look on their faces when they didn't know what the hell was going on. IMO, a head coach at the power 5 level should be prepared for damn near every situation. I really missed having that when Saban left.

Wade sets the temperature in his players' hotel rooms to 68 because science has proven its the best for sleep.

That's what we're dealing with now

That article about all the metrics he tracks and all of his philosophies and practices was pretty eye-opening. He preaches defense, discipline, toughness, attention to detail and accountability. So refreshing. And he's 34.

I feel really confident this hire is going to be a grand slam. I'm still kind of in shock Joe pulled it off.

Defense?

What is this "defense" thing that you speak of?

Johnny preached defense his last year here. I saw it many times in the mic'd up timeouts. Think his issue was he didnt know the specifics of how to teach effective defensive fundamentals like footwork and hand placement. And he also refused to adapt whatever defensive scheme that was they ran

Same. I set the bar so hilariously low that landing Wade was not even on my radar.

Also pretty fired up he turned Clemson down. It says a lot about what he thinks LSU can be, so sign me up

I went from 6 to midnight watching that clip. Awesome, success not measured solely on results but on effort and execution. That's the mentality of championship coaches and teams. Details and execution.

Between Wade, Canada, and Aranda, I am about as excited for LSU athletics as I have ever been.

I think the kids involved in LSU athletics echo that sentiment. It was so nice to see the football players enjoying the game again last year. It was so obvious. Hopefully, the basketball players can do the same thing.
