Hawaii Fed Judge

quote:

Attorney Colleen Roh Sinzdak says a Muslim plaintiff in the lawsuit, Ismail Elshikh, has such standing to challenge the ban. Elshikh says the ban prevents his mother-in-law, who lives in Syria, from visiting family in Hawaii.

Imagine the coincidence.

quote:

The judge in Hawaii who put President Donald Trump's revised travel ban on hold was nominated to the federal bench by President Barack Obama.

Just coincidence.

quote:

The judge says Hawaii is likely to succeed on a claim that the ban violates the First Amendment right protecting people against religious discrimination.

How is this exactly "religious" discrimination?

No it's probably not coincidence that a federal prosecutor, from Hawaii, with an impressive resume--including attending one of the top law schools in the country--would be nominated to serve in his home state.

He was confirmed 94-0 so I don't know what else matters.

If the MIL can't pass basic vetting then she shouldn't visit. She most likely is not banned; but they had to have standing so they found a Patsy Muhammad.

What's next? Clockboy files another lawsuit saying he was banned from taking his "clock" on a plane?

I imagine there's a great deal of people in the US that wish they could use a travel ban to keep their MIL away...

Even if it was, it is still LEGAL. The 1st amendment does not extend to people in Syria or Yemen.
