Hawaii Fed Judge
Imagine the coincidence.
Just coincidence.
How is this exactly "religious" discrimination?
quote:
Attorney Colleen Roh Sinzdak says a Muslim plaintiff in the lawsuit, Ismail Elshikh, has such standing to challenge the ban. Elshikh says the ban prevents his mother-in-law, who lives in Syria, from visiting family in Hawaii.
Imagine the coincidence.

The judge in Hawaii who put President Donald Trump's revised travel ban on hold was nominated to the federal bench by President Barack Obama.
Just coincidence.

The judge says Hawaii is likely to succeed on a claim that the ban violates the First Amendment right protecting people against religious discrimination.

quote:No it's probably not coincidence that a federal prosecutor, from Hawaii, with an impressive resume--including attending one of the top law schools in the country--would be nominated to serve in his home state.
Just coincidence.
He was confirmed 94-0 so I don't know what else matters.

Elshikh says the ban prevents his mother-in-law, who lives in Syria, from visiting family in Hawaii.
What's next? Clockboy files another lawsuit saying he was banned from taking his "clock" on a plane?

I imagine there's a great deal of people in the US that wish they could use a travel ban to keep their MIL away...

Even if it was, it is still LEGAL. The 1st amendment does not extend to people in Syria or Yemen.
