GCHQ resonds: 'Utterly ridiculous nonsense' that Britain wiretapped Trump

Britain is pissed. White House has said it wasn't intentional. HOW in the world is not intentional? Spicer is pathetic.
It would be helpful to everyone if Trump would just admit he lied. Everyone knows he did anyway.

LONDON — Britain's intelligence agency called allegations that it wiretapped President Trump during the U.S. election campaign, "utterly ridiculous" claims "that should be ignored."
The statement by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), which hardly ever responds to allegations about its spying activities, came after White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer repeated a claim first made on Fox News in a press briefing Thursday.
Spicer read out a statement he said that former judge and legal analyst Andrew Napolitano made on Fox News on Tuesday: "Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command. He didn't use the NSA, he didn't use the CIA, he didn't use the FBI and he didn't use the Department of Justice, he used GCHQ."
"Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCHQ being asked to conduct 'wire tapping' against the then President Elect are nonsense,” GCHQ said in a statement.
It would be helpful to everyone if Trump would just admit he lied. Everyone knows he did anyway.

They certainly have no honor. No more than the cheeto.

Weird they would release a statement that doesn't even address the claim, yet calls it utterly ridiculous

You don't think Trump was under surveillance by someone working for or with CIA with intent to leverage any potential negative info?
I find the probability of Trump NOT being listened too damn near 0%. And in all honesty maybe it's not altogether a terrible thing.

It's extremely confusing. Dems want us to believe that he has all these nefarious ties and is working in Russian interests but at the same time believe that our IC would never even consider spying on him. It doesn't add up

Exactly.

Jesus, you would think they would have learned something from making the original accusation against Obama based only on news sources, then they they go and blame our closest ally, based only on a fox news report! Unbelievable.

It's no longer about what we THINK.
Both bipartisan Intel committees have said it didn't happen.

Everyone else understood what was said, thus the groveling apology today.

If Trump and/or his associates got surveilled by the US or by foreign intelligence, it was incidental, because they were talking to russian's who are always under surveillence. Trump imo knows they have damning recordings of him and his team, he's trying to get out in front of it and delegitimize the intelligence.

This is just so embarrassing. Pussy Grabber is using a FOX News report which turned out to be fake news.
And poor Spicer is left looking like an idiot.
