Who else is left that is worth signing that would make an impact like Butler could?
You realize if we snag him, draft a good pass rusher at 11 and maybe snag a safety in the 2nd round that we could have a pretty legit defense, right?
Klein is a question mark but the rest of the guys can play when they're healthy. Give Cam an above average pass rush on the other side and he will have double digit sacks. And the secondary will be much better as Bell could just shade Breaux's side instead of playing centerfield with Butler playing pretty much 1-on-1 which is what he did in NE, leaving Vaccaro to play nickle like he did last year. And that's not factoring in what a guy like Marcus Williams, Budda Baker or Obi could do. They're all lacking on tackling abilities but have all been labeled as ball hawking center fielders
Summary: Butler could take us to a good secondary. A pass rusher at 11 could take us to a good defensive line with only the LB's as a question mark. But if Klein plays well we could find ourselves with AT LEAST a top 15 defense.

We make the playoffs if they are top 20

If they can learn to create turnovers, I almost don't care what they're ranked.

Prediction: Saints will have a top 10 defense in 2017.
Jordan/fairley/big rank/edge rusher at 11
robertson/klein/ellerbe
butler/breaux/pj williams/breauxmosexual
bell/vaccaro/draft pick
ohhh lawdy
Looks good on paper.
But you should know better than to go out on a limb like that.

no let him go out on the limb - maybe then it will break and he falls and breaks both hands and can't post anymore.

I was waiting for a tweet that said: "it didn't go well. They hated each other. Loomis refused to pass the butter, like a bitch."

No biggie, because that's something CSP wouldn't refuse to do.

You listed Breaux twice?
Also, Kikaha is still on this team.

he doesn't need them - he has the ability to pass rush with his Torso. bet he could sack Romo that way

quote:Agreed. But my concern is that the Saints are that one team. BB is smart and deals players at a high point. Read that Butler did not play against great QBs all season, so he will likely not look any better than he did last season.
He's only worth a 1st if someone is willing to give up a 1st and I don't see it.

Even if we give back 32nd pick, getting Butler is a huge win for us. No chance in hell we give up #11. Not that stupid this year.
