What I'm confused by is his teammates disappointed by his departure. How big of a cancer could he have been if they are disappointed by the trade?

maybe that is their obligatory "he was such a nice guy and we will miss him" thing even if they don't feel that way?

or maybe they either agreed with cooks actions, or felt it was a 50/50 thing on whos wrong?

I hope its not the later or there are some serious shite going on behind the scenes.

Look at the teammates that dealt with him the most: His QB and fellow WR's.
I don't care as much what the defense says on twitter or our RB. Our QB took to twitter to take a veiled shot at Cooks and the other WR's take shots at him on Instagram.

You are dealing with a culture problem within the locker room. Cooks wasn't the cause. He's just a symptom.

Great teams have a great understanding of the concept of team and the value of it. Way too many players in our locker room are clueless to that concept.
