LINK

quote:

“Flippy”, a robotic kitchen assistant, is the creation of Miso Robotics, an engineering firm specializing in “adaptable robotics” for commercial kitchens. Miso's goal is to develop technology that can handle hazardous, tedious and time-sensitive aspects of cooking, from flipping burgers to frying chicken, cutting vegetables or final plating...in other words, all of the minimum wage restaurant jobs where employee costs just skyrocketed courtesy of economics-challenged politicians.

quote:

Per Nation's Restaurant News, 'Flippy' is no longer just a concept as it won its first major contract with CaliBurger which vowed to roll out the burger-flipping technology in all of its 50 global locations by the end of 2019.

How long before non of us have to work?

How long before an Attorney represents the Robots for better conditions?

When will they unionize?

And Last..... When will the first marriage between robot and human happen?

Good. Those worthless fricks at BK aren't worth $2/hr much less $15.

Will the robots be constructed so they can also spit on our burgers just because they may be in a foul mood that day?

That's all I'm concerned about.

Once the burger flippers are liberated from their menial jobs, they will be free to produce art that benefits society

If their robots don't work any better than ours at my place of employment, humans are ok for a while.
Many task at my job are done by automated laser guided robots, but they are constantly losing their way, getting stuck and simply freezing up. It's a full time jog to keep chasing them down and manually getting them to do what they are suposed to do automatically.

Workers have gotten screwed much, much more by computerization and robotics than trade deals.

I love how people rail on the "globalist elites".

Then we will see a thread about fast food workers in some liberal town like Seattle asking for 15 dollars an hour.

This will draw a response about how this will only cost them jobs as fast food franchises turn to automation.

Then there will be a link to some article about robots serving food at Wendy's and kiosks at McDonalds and many posters will be all excited about how those greedy workers are getting their comeuppance.

For some reason, people do not realize that the only people winning in that situation are the Global Elites they are bitching about in different threads.

It makes no sense to me.

1. Global elites suck! Screw them. MAGA. Trump rules!
2. Fast food workers want a raise? Who do they think they are!
3. Yeah robots! Screw you hamburger flipper. Lazy bum.
4. Global elites suck!

Something to be said for a consistently cooked tasty burger...maybe Brad would still be alive today.

But there is also something to be said for being able to smoke weed on your break.

I'm ambivalent about this new technology.
