Chackbay Seasoning

I normally use Zatarain liquid boil, cayenne and salt. Been using that for 30 years and it's always been very good. All these years I've been leery about trying something different. I keep hearing good things about Chackbay. Do any of you that use this kind of seasoning have a surefire ratio of how much I need to add to the pot along with the proper amount of salt so I don't screw up the entire sack of crawfish? I was thinking about adding the Chackbay and 1-2 cups of Zatarain liquid boil. That's what I thought I read in the TD recipe collection above. The bag of Chackbay says it will season 60 pounds of crawfish but I just can't see how that's possible. It's a small package. I think it's 12 ounces. I'm using an 80 quart pot.

I have the exact same question and exact same scenario. Interested in responses.

It'll do a sack...30-38 lbs. add 1 or 2 boxes of salt. Plus the liquid. You'll quit buying the other mixes.

I've been using Chackbay for 20 years.
Chackbay
Box of salt
4oz bottle of liquid
That's for a sack of crawfish, bushel of crabs or 30lbs shrimp. Never had a complaint.

Any updates from any boilers out there as to how this is going for them?

I've followed this thread since its inception and I've been very eager to try chackbay. Today I finally did. I must say...it wasn't the hit I thought it'd be. Everyone (6 people) thought that it was okay. It just wasn't great. Everyone suggested I go back to my old trusty recipe as it was better. And I agreed with them. The recipe I used is as follows:
1.5 bags of chackbay
1.5 boxes of salt
1.5 cups of cayenne
2 cups of zats liquid (larger jar)
It was like the 1st few were pretty good but the more you ate, the less flavor you could taste. It was kind of odd. If I were to use the recipe again, I would go for the full 2 boxes of salt. I'm sure other people have had great success, but my test run resulted in not very raveworthy results. If anyone cares, my trusty recipe is as follows:
1 4.5lb bag of louisiana seasoning
1 lg bottle of crystal hot sauce
Optional-1 to 2 cups of cayenne If cooking for a crowd looking for more heat
After the fire is cut:
1 sm jar of zats liquid
1 bottle of lemon juice
I've tried a few different recipes over the years, but this one has been the most reliable for me.
