Be more specific please. What religion do you speak of? And why would you ask such a question?

But you are right....in their country they are welcome to do whatever they thing is right...we have no say....but when they immigrate they should become Americans....and when they travel they should respect the culture of the country they are visiting....if they don't want to shed the shite when in the west then don't visit.

Has anyone been to a waterpark in the last couple of years?

Some Funny shite in Person

Those frickers ought not even travel to the west if they are going to wear pajamas in the swimming pool....

And they come in plus sizes LOL....there is a joke there somewhere that includes Omar the tent maker but I am culturally tolerant so I ain't going there....

You, sir, have fallen into the trap of cultural relativism. I used to be there until I learned that Western civilization is a safer place for 'marginalized' groups to exist. I don't want my beautiful daughter to be exposed to this barbarous misogyny.

I think it might help your argument if you define an "American" as you see it.

Seriously....put all of these people to work in good paying careers where they can have a family and go on a vacation every year without having to worry about losing everything and all of a sudden you won't won't find a more moderate person on the planet.

yeah because guys like Osama Bin Laden were from poverty and just jealous of middle class people in the West

you do realize you just made the exact argument by Islamists as to why Islam has to be law and not just a choice, right?

you essentially just argued that we need to buy off their morality to make them more docile...that materialism and modern comfort are the best way to have them turn their backs on the very suffering that [insert god] put on Earth to make faith difficult

Folks who openly objectify women as sexual objects...this is an American....

Babes For Trump

Those young women understand the power they have.....they don't need empowering they are empowered...and it pisses folks off on the left almost the same as the Islamic Women do folks on the right....

Osama bin laden is an EXCELLENT example of how a member of the aristocracy can get poor people to do their bidding....if it weren't for massive poverty in the middle east he wouldn't have had an army...why did he have to travel to Afghanistan and couldn't have gotten enough folks to form an army in Saudi Arabia??? because poverty isn't as great....

But you misread my statement my friend....I said white nationalists wouldn't be as prevalent if they had secure middle class incomes....you need desperate people anytime you want to build an army outside of a nations army with the purpose of protecting national soveriegnty...if everyone was fat and happy and satisfied in the world there would be no need for any armies...you can't build an army out of middle aged men who are living the good life...you have to get young men who are starting out and don't have a whole lot in their lives just yet....

They still have a choice in the matter whether to advocate their own sexuality. All those babes for trump girls were not forced into doing it.

Islamic women have zero or hardly any choices at all without serious reprocussions.

What I don't understand is how the left holds up these hijab wearers as some sort of symbol to be admired, for their bravery.

Like the fencer gal in the Olympics. She wore a hijab to compete, and they just drooled over her, like... she's wearing a scarf... she's so brave! Let her carry the flag at the opening ceremony!

She wears the hijab because she is Muslim. Her religion requires her to wear it. They do not require men to wear it. Her religion requires her to dress modestly. If it's her choice to do so, she is complicit in a sexist standard that normalizes unfair treatment of women, and represents the Muslim viewpoint that women should be submissive and adherent to their rules. And somehow, Western women remain silent about this.

Personally, I'm alright with her decision to wear it. That's fine. It's her religion. It requires no personal bravery to follow the rules of your faith. My problem is with Western women (feminists) who talk about women breaking barriers and shattering the patriarchy... yet, remain curiously silent about the most patriarchal societies on planet Earth, the countries of the Muslim world, and their demonstrated inequity toward women.

I couldn't agree more and that is why I don't think we shouldn't at least acknowledge how "un-American" this practice is in the United States....we shouldn't simply tolerate it....it is the norm in some cultures just to wail the hell out of a misbehaving young-un....but we don't tolerate it when it gets out of hand and we make the decision on the spur of the moment....

I find it ridiculous when people make your argument.

Inferior culture is easily identified.

yes this is one reason why the "hijab" example is one of my favorites, b/c it involves a complete warping of reality to get to the "gotcha" by progs. they purposefully ignore the actual force/coercion used so that they can spin this into an empowered choice by woman. that simply ignores reality simply so they can yell "gotcha"

second, it shows the deep-seeded hatred of Western culture by the progs. the reason why it's so easy for progs to do the "ignoring reality" bit above is b/c that "choice" is non-Western. their real end-game is attacking Western culture, not supporting a single worldview about any particular issue. so since the hijab is non-Western, the rules they want to apply to Western culture (and the criticisms/examples they seek) do not apply. you can actually combine the 2 points and see that they're supporting this "choice" because the "choice" becomes brave because it creates a different cultural expression in the West

if you ever want to get into this argument with a legit feminist, steer the discussion towards one of those "choice" arguments they hate in the West. the 2 best are the economic impacts of women choosing to have children or, even better, the "college major" choice scenario. when you remove the hijab and discuss that women aren't represented well in some high-paying field b/c they don't seek degrees required of that field, what do you get? they say "well that's b/c of our patriarchal and sexist society that has molded women into making that choice"

then you get a rhetoric boner and you know how to use that to frick their argument

That's exactly the kind of thinking that led to imperialism. Damn near 100% of the issues currently facing Africa and the Middle East stem from imperialism and the fall of colonialism being handled so poorly. What caused colonialism? The idea that European culture was superior to African and Middle Eastern culture. They fricked up half the planet to a point that they will NEVER catch up.

OH shite more "west is evil" arguments

quote:

They fricked up half the planet to a point that they will NEVER catch up.

so you think sub-Saharan Africa would be more developed today had colonialism never occurred?

do you also purposefully ignore the 2nd colonial era (the Cold War)?

Can you give me some of African aid charities you have donated to and the name of your peace corps contact from when you spend 2 years there helping the people?

I don't know as much about the 2nd colonial era as I do about the colonization of Africa and the Ottoman Empire. It isn't "west is evil", it's more Europe stole resources from other countries and now they are lagging behind economically. This is not an opinion. This is factual.

If they would be more developed or not isn't really the issue. Europeans destroyed their culture, then pit them against each other by drawing country borders that made absolutely zero sense historically speaking. Did you know why Great Britain created the country of Iraq? They literally picked out the biggest oil deposits and drew a circle around them. That became Iraq. Along with three ethnic groups who HATED each other and ended up killing each other for decades.

Charities in Africa are actually causing more harm than good. The Red Cross sells your clothes to brokers who sell them to villagers. Aid is waited for and fought over. It teaches people to become dependent on charity instead of figuring things out for themselves. The Peace Corps is a phenomenal program, and if I wasn't lucky enough to have a great job I would consider joining. I do have a friend in Kosovo with PC right now and she is loving it.
