I seem to very vaguely recall this place. Not sure if I ever went in. What was it?

Who remembers the Acme Book Store? Mainly on Chimes St but they also opened one in Bocage for a brief period

I went to the grand opening of The Real Superstore. It was amazing.

First job after i turned 16 was bagging and pushing carts at The Real Superstore. I was so happy when the people would let me keep the quarter from the cart .

Joe D's
- Capitol Heights neighborhood; near the terminus of Jefferson Hwy. (at Government)
- named for Joseph Digirolamo; later run by his children
- the fried chicken was as good as it gets (Sundays in our house smelled like Joe D's chicken, after Mass)
- outstanding Italian sandwiches
- if you ordered fries w/ ketchup, it came in a bag w/ two open sides, overflowing with fat crinkle fries, ketchup poured inside, bag corner twisted.. an absolute mess of a "meal", but truly my childhood
- my Dad drank gin & tonics in the back room (Booth's Gin supposedly went under when Dad quit the booze)
