Sounds like you rely on Disney and other media to teach your children. Be a better parent than Disney.

Words matter. If you're going to come here to bitch, use the right ones.

I do not believe gay is normal, but do not shun or discriminate against those who swing that way.
Imagine a civilization of gays...and know it will become extinct.

People can disagree with what disney and others are doing, be great parents, and actually not be that angry about it.
One day, your mind will understand.
Or maybe not, because you had bad parents who didnt teach you anything right?

when we say "normal"
are we discussing "normal" as is in society or biologically?

Biologically, the standard is to be straight.
Within our society, the standard is to be straight

Sure, but that isn't what you did.
You said...

I do not think we should teach our kids being gay is "normal"
Are you teaching your kids that being gay is "normal?" If not, so far Disney or television are the only other options presented.

Fact that Disney is pushing first gay character is telling the real story.
I'm sorry, but have people even seen Disney movies? There are lots of implied gay characters in their movies. LeFou isn't the first.

I don't know who that is. Are they the ones teaching your kids that being gay is "normal?"

The gay guy is always nice and smart (never will they negatively portray the gay kid). And, the shows often make them a "hero" for being gay.
Well, more often than not in Disney movies, the implied gay character is a villain, and LeFou is also one. I don't see how Disney is all that guilty of this.

being gay in today's society is normal, or at least has been normalized, in the sense that gays are not ostracized by the majority
Posted on 3/2/17 at 9:02 am to Wimp Lo
Now they're trying to push this shite on the kids. Sad. Boycott this folks.

I dont think you have grasped the science behind how a child's brain works....

right
a child hearing LeFou saying he wants to kiss Gaston will probably just laugh about how silly LeFou is
only the adults will get outraged

I actually do. It's a primary reason that I'm not overly concerned about a Disney character "indoctrinating" any children.
Posted on 3/2/17 at 9:07 am to Salmon
Yeah, I think that's as far as they'll go with it. It is part of LeFou's character to be practically in love with Gaston. I don't see why this is out of character.

fine, I'll concede that
but is a child being aware of a non normal lifestyle dangerous or bad if that lifestyle isn't ostracized by the majority?

Not really. Its normalization. They start them at an early age. Look on what was ABC family, now freeform or some shite. Just about every show had a gay couple. IN reality, gays are pretty rare with regards to total population, yet its mainstream TV/Movie standard practice now.
Parents can only do so much with all other outside forces are directed at their children via social media, local schools, Tv, movies, etc.
My parents raised myself and my sister the same yet we ventured different paths throughout our youth. Why?
