And we're at a point where we could put Kershaws current run in the discussion but that's a topic for another day

You could make a pretty compelling case for the greatest athletes from each major sport
Ruth mays gibson pedro bonds
Marciano Ali Merriweather
Jim Brown Barry Sanders LT
Gretzsky
Nicklaus or Tiger
Jordan Wilt or Lebron

I can't recall his name atm but the great Russian heavyweight Olympic wrestler had a stupefying run that puts him in the conversation.

ruth
more of everything than bonds
more run production. less games per season., and ate way too much and drank. did not get to use amphetamines or HGH
he had the best eyesight of his generation. could not watch "movies' because his eye could pick up the frames.
Williams was similar. they tested Williams for SI.

Usain Bolt, pretty much unbeatable in the 100 and 200, and it lasted pretty long with maybe some periods where he wasn't in top shape.
Gotta go with Bolt

Tiger Woods' 2000 season
17 top 10 finishes in 20 tournaments played, 9 wins, 4 second place finishes, and 1 third. 3 major wins
His stat lines for the season are just absurd

I know it's women's basketball and all, but Courtney Paris of Oklahoma used to have this insane streak of double-doubles.

Tiger Woods and it's not even close. Late '99/2000-2002 was absurd. And statistically, 2005-2008 was almost as good.
Phelps, Usain Bolt, Martinez, Serena Williams, Federer are all names mostly mentioned already but definitely belong in the conversation.

Griffey Jr. 4 year average from 1996-1999 was also pretty sick. Didn't quite have the average as Bonds but he was a scoring machine.
Averages:
52 HR
142 RBIs
123 RUNS
