re: PSA - F-22s flying out of NAS JRB

It was awesome when Belle Chasse used to have F-14's. I used to work down there and my officer was in the land path, we would have to put calls on hold until all of the planes landed.

Yeah, the Heritage Flights. I saw a P-51, F-16, and F-22 flying in formation. The P-51's engine was screaming just to keep up with the throttled back jets. You could barely hear the F-16 over the P-51, and the F-22 was so quiet it was pretty much inaudible over the other two... until it peeled off of the formation, lit the burners, and disappeared. Then you knew who was the big swinging dick out of the three.
