I stop in this albertsons daily on way home from work mainly for 6pk of beer and what not.

My god, the lines to check out in the main part are ridiculous. I have been asking what the hell is going on and they can't hire anyone to work apparently.

Wonder why they can't hire anyone.

And my boy Walter is now managing dairy so that sucks.

That's the closest grocery to me, you are right about the lines. I did stop by today around 7:30 and only had one person in front of me. Freak occurence.

Go early on a Sunday morn or late afternoon. A lot less people. Buy all your "what nots" and 2 cases of beer. Now you won't have to

I shop at that same store, and I agree with you. I do my shopping on Sundays and the lines are unbelievable. This wasn't always the case. In fact, I didn't notice it until after the flood. Though I wouldn't go on the record saying they're correlated.

I also hate that the one on Essen/Perkins is now out of hand baskets

Holy frick, yes. I went in for ~10 items a couple days ago and had to use a giant cart.

Also agree about the smell. Albertsons stores have smelled awful since I was a child. I can't figure out why.

All of this piling on, but it is still my go-to store. It is the closest to where I live. Only other in the vicinity is Robert's, which is nice but expensive and lacks a lot of the regular items I buy.

Walter's been moved to dairy? That's disappointing.

Maybe we should just start a thread on Albertsons, but anyway...

I've been pondering if the one at Highland/Airline will make it. It seems like a nice store, and I've never noticed a bad smell, but mostly just use the bank on the front wall.

But something has to give... Since it's opened, WalMart has opened which steals their price-conscious shoppers, Alexander's on Old Perkins steal a lot of their "upper tier" shoppers, and now Rouses on Airline about a mile north. And everyone seems enamored with Rouses.

I hope they make it, primarily because the vacuum created by those large stores usually isn't a good thing. (and where would they put my bank?)

They usually do get my beer/liquor dollars.
