yea really. who cares. no one is buying the Switch Day 1 to play SNES games.
I think video streaming and no internet browsing are more disappointing than this...the launch is clearly rushed though, they're quite correct, but no one is twisting arms to make you buy this on launch day. Nintendo probably should've made clear what will not be ready for launch at an earlier day though.
but with nothing being said about virtual console at all, was this really a big shocker?

i'm replaying Metroid Prime 2 because I stopped and that's the kind of game you can't pick up after a few months and remember what's where.
so I guess i'm playing some gamecube right now

Yeah no YouTube or Netflix is a bigger deal to me, could have made this my go to for traveling. Still getting it day one, I need to experience Zelda.

man, there is nothing more frustrating that not playing a game for a while then picking it up and realizing you have no clue where you are, what you are supposed to do, or even how to correctly control the damn thing b/c it's got 400 different input combos.

especially when you're pretty far into the game. I was really fricking far into the game so there's more map you forget, add in the light/dark world mechanic
and I just had to start over. no complaints though, it's fun as frick.

Most recently I've had that happen to me with both Xenoblade games.

so you've been reduced to factually incorrect tweets from a rival CEO , and linking warez sites.
great thread. really

that's funny
I think most people, including me and most in the industry, really wishes Nintendo would stop being Nintendo and actually succeed.

sarcasm?
I got used to it and enjoyed it for what it was, but come on.

that's why the portability concept has me hyped. there are spots, days/weeks when you don't have the time to play but you want to,
switch increases my window

the centrally located and enlarged A button versus the standard 4 button diamond configuration; it's no contest.

I was a super late adopter on the last 2 Nintendo consoles and I mean really late.
so the wii catalog had some great shite when I bought it...tons of it.
wii u...that's a thin catalog for an entire console life

I would have bought VC games Day 1 and nothing else if they had VC.

I really don't doubt that either. I do too. i just think it's way too early to go "oh shite same old Nintendo"
I think the criticism about the thin launch lineup is fair but blown so far out of proportion. The level
of scrutiny is kind of laughable and I think has more to do with their last console than the one we're talking about now
Either way, too early to judge but the portability concept is going to sell a lot of these and if they get the 3 missing ingredients up really soon it will have mass appeal on an epic scale.

I have a 3ds. It's funny you mention that. So many times where I thought "it would be nice if I could play this on tv right now." and I certainly want to play Nintendo's console first party titles, making them on the go, and the ability to play a game more suited to mobile on tv...awesome.
My wife is not a crazy clinger but she's the kind that likes to be in the same room even when we're doing our own thing. Sometimes I'm bored by her shows, and sometimes she wants to go to bed when I don't
She likes fgoing to bed at the same time but that's the only chance I have to really play video games, but by the same token if she goes to bed and I'm still up doing shite in the living room or den, I'll never sleep
tldr

I understand that completely. That's why I have my Vita in our living room. I typically play that while she's watching TV or wants to read instead.

Hands on impressions are being published today and it's pretty clear that the "switch" hook is a hit. Kotaku which pretty much only writes articles along the lines of "another reason to be very apprehensive about switch" is saying that the hardware is fricking awesome and well designed
All the marketing and even the name is designed around this aspect but people haven't been able to experience it, and the early impressions are good
Day 1 update to basically unlock wifi hotspot connectivity and eshop and for some a problem with the left joycon syncing to the console
