We have tons of pitchers. No reason to lose games for not having someone warming at the first sign of trouble (for anyone outside of Lange and Poche and even them later in games).

Is this all on CPM or partly on Dunn?

He just doesn't get the next guy ready soon enough. We actually have a very deep/experienced pen. I get midweek and getting Guys work so it's not a melt. Just can't happen during SEC play and moving forward.

I think this game was more on trying to let these guys work out of jam. It's the first midweek game of the season, they need to build some confidence or they will get lost in the bullpen. We need to get some more weekend bullpen guys ready.

Strall really shouldn't ever pitch in any somewhat close game again.

Reynolds and Kiel were horrible too but you think they can bounce back with the talent they have. What have we ever seen from Strall to show us he can pitch at this level? He has always gotten rocked.

I'm not beating up this staff over a midweek UNO game. Walker and Gilbert showed they are capable of starting games. They were not going to extend Gilbert too much his first start. UNO was starting to figure out Gilbert and had some solid hits in that fourth.

It's game 4. I feel your pain but he has to give Strall a chance in live action to see if he can depend on him. Strall will not see meaningful innings for the rest of the year.

Kiel put himself in the doghouse big time last night.

Not apologizing for Mainieri or Dunn but these are things that need to be sorted out on Tuesday's and Wednesday's in February and not in May.

That's a stupid thing to say. He obviously should have left Gilbert (starting pitcher) in longer than he did. Last night he pulled the pitcher too early.

CPM has made it clear numerous times, that he & Coach Dunn sit down & game plan pitching wise for every game. Take CPM out of it since the hate for him remains so strong, but Coach Dunn has been the director of pitching for several major league teams, for well over a decade. And director of pitching for the entire minor league program. And he's been in the SEC long enough now to know what he's doing on the collegiate level. Point being, he is a professional pitching coach & has been recognized nation wide for his expertise. He's seen every pitch every pitcher at LSU has thrown since the Fall. Yet the ranters here know better. Good Lord.

The season just started.
Mid-week game.
It's when you play with the line up to see what works and what doesn't work.

Chill out. It's baseball and a very long season.

All of you pitching experts need to get over to Florida for spring training. MLB requires their coaches to be there. Oh yeah none of you are coaches and none of you really know what you are talking about.

He's got to see if his guys can work through adversity, but 4 doubles and a triple in one inning is tough to swallow. I can't ever remember LSU being skull drug so bad in one inning before.

Maybe in general, but last night we lost because he pulled a pitcher too quickly. If his #1 goal was to win last night's game he would've left Gilbert in for another couple of innings. Instead he pulled him to give other guys a chance, which makes sense in the long run but cost us last night's game.

best thing for a fresh pitcher is to get him on and off the mound as quickly as possible and give them a sort of rythm

although i agree, its just a mid week game and its early, (trying to get some guys some game reps) This goes on with many skippers these days, they want to see if they can fight through it.. and I get that, you want to see that in your pitcher but you have to put the team first.. i cant count the number of times ive seen games lost for leaving a guy in too long or not getting someone hot and the first sign of trouble. like i said its the beginning of the year and hes learning the guys.. but no way that should happen during conference play.

you leave a pitcher in the game when the situation is tough (men on base, etc) BECAUSE PITCHERS HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO PITCH OUT OF THOSE SITUATIONS. there are other reasons but at this time of the year in a meaningless game that's the only truth that matters. it is not good policy to treat a meaningless game like a fricking post season contest. in ALL LIKELYHOOD, you think the pitcher was left in too long because it didn't work out. if he would have pitched out of the jam, PM would have been applauded for it. this team isn't being coached to win every game nor should it be. it should be prepared for the end game and we are most definitely going to need our pitchers to pitch well under pressure.
